How do you remove excess polish from plastic trim?

I noticed that when I polished my car some of it flicked up off the polisher onto some of the plastic trim. It’s basically because I’m a bit crap at polishing. Anyway, what’s the best way to remove it?? I’ve just read online that a normal pencil eraser is quite good, but I’ve not yet tried it. I have tried a toothbrush and hot water, gun wash, and various other cleaning products but they just don’t seem to dissolve the excess polish.

Apart from not making this mistake again what do you recommend?

Wouldn't use anything abrasive myself on plastic either.

If APC doesn't work then this is the stuff you need.
