Hi all,

This is my daily and I have owned this car for about 2 years and realised I haven’t done a thread on it.

When I bought it, it was in reasonable condition but needed a lot doing.

In my ownership it has had the following (most work done by Alex at AW Motorworks):

* Induction kit
* Vibra technics engine and gearbox mount
* Timing belt/Aux belt/dephaser and water pump
* Polybushed throughout (purple/black mix)
* Came with a questionable JB5 gearbox, replaced with a JC5 with Blackline LSD (+ new clutch and rear main crank seal)
* Refurbished and powder coated wheels
* Michelin PS5 tyres
* Replaced headliner from a 182 as original had sagged
* New cup rear shocks (it is sitting on Eibach springs)
* All sensors replaced
* Camber bolts running about -2.5 on the front
* Fastchip RON 98 map
* Underside and engine bay blasting
* Aircon delete using the PMS kit + new alternator
* Alpine stereo and speakers
* All new injectors, spark plugs, coil pack
* Lambda sensors replaced (still on OEM cat)
* Brembo discs and mintex 1144 pads
* RBF 660 brake fluid
* Braided hoses front and rear
* Replaced handbrake cables
* KTEC stealth exhaust with resonator
* Stock interior
* New clutch cable
* Removed sound deadening from engine bay

Some photos from when I got it and now:

Since I sorted out all the common issues, it hasn’t missed a beat! Currently on 107k, healthy engine pulls great!

Original plate was AE52 BCO not sure if it belonged to someone on this forum previously.

Lovely car, these always look good in black! Somehow the front looks more aggressive than mine😅
That's the first time I've heard of a Clio headliner sagging, how bad was it? Even my old 1.4 that sat in the sun for over a decade with a ruined clearcoat had a perfect headliner so I wonder how your old one started to sag🤔

It was pretty bad! Both front and back was sagging. Apparently the 172s suffer from this Alex told me, the 182s seem to be much better!

Nice work!

When you installed the PMS AC delete. Did you remove the AC evaporator unit on the drivers side? (As the expansion valve is missing on the bulk head).

Yes indeed, the plate has been changed as well on the bulkhead. In that photo of the engine bay, AC was only partially removed (the compressor was still on the aux belt, it was before the PMS AC delete kit was fitted).

Ah right.
Got a cup spec AC delete on the shelf pending install. Im assuming you get these bulkhead plates from non AC cups and povety spec clios. May need to look at shipping one over.
If you removed the AC evaporator behind the bulkhead. Doesn't this include the blower? Meaning you need to replace the whole unit? Or can you just split the unit apart and remove the evaporator separately?

*Apparently you can't fit 172cup style blower on FF 172/182's: https://cliosport.net/threads/172-cup-blower-into-a-182-cup.816051/

Yeah I think the idea is to remove the ac evaporator and blank it, have a look at https://www.pure-motorsport.co.uk/d...te_kit_instructions_with_standard_pulleys.pdf
