Sounds like you could just do with a re-build (new bearings) and a clutch.
Anyway my gearbox plate is something like - JC 5014 C0008853
Usual bits like belts whilst lump is AWOL.
Here we go then....
1) Brace on my Willy is the OMP one, easy to fit and looks good with the yellow writing on the engine cover.
2) Go for the standard 10W-40 stuff (loads of threads on this)
3) I would go for NGK all day long!!!
4) Not much difference unless yours are knackered.
5)...

When I used to work for Renault all the salesmen/ valetors..infact everybody always ragged the nuts off every car despite its age. Especially us lot out the back in the workshop.
It wont make any difference taking it easy for a while..if there is something wrong itll just take longer to happen!
Its not exactly the best traffic jam solution, but it certainly handles all the power better. No more slipping when you are giving it plenty!!
Its very unforgiving, either on or off!! But you get used to it.

I agree on the car thing but I reckon that should be on the profile of the person. If you click on the Active Users bit at the bottom of the forums then it tells you whos on.
OK, so going for a set of leads as I am re-newing the whole ignition thing...i.e. Cap, rotor arm, plugs and the injectors cleaning etc...
Is there any point in doing this and spending 70 notes for 5 leads if all it is going to do is add some colour under the hood? If there are better than the...
the whole lot was around £250 that included the cover plate assembly, you can get all sorts of makes, from AP carbon ones to Helix ones. Best bet is to get a copy of the Demon Tweeks Motorsport book or flick through the back of the Motoring News paper.

I would of gone for a more uprated clutch like a cerametallic one, as I have one in my willy and it is tons better than the OE one.
Just change the usual stuff like fluids, plugs, belts etc... Unless you wanna give it some mods before it goes back in.
You should have a choice of loads for that money! Just keep looking, and the ones that stay for sale are obviously dogs so keep clear and let everybody else do the work for you.
Stay a bit lower than your budget because you will need cash to repair/change stuff on it as soon as you buy it...

If it is the same layout as the 16V and Willy then the cat is on its own..i.e. You can replace it for a straight thru tube without having to remove the middle section and silencer. So you could well have a straight thru, best bet is to get underneath and look.
