They are effectively mounting a 6 DOF motion base on a big fook-of XY table (which is the 2 DOF). I dont know if you know about it or come across it in your flight sim stuff but the motion bases are based on an american military one known as the NADS system.
Got the CAD model of the car...
Kinda based on this thread but I just thought I would gloat a little by informing you all that I have been given the task to design a driving simulator for Renault based on a Clio cockpit. It is a 6 DOF mounted on a 2 DOF motion platform using 3 projectors to give 160x40 field of view...
I have got a set of McGuard on my Williams, they are by far the best. Auto Express did a product test and they came out on top.
Ring demon Tweeks cause they stock em.
Never seen the PX IK, but you may lose power through the open ended filter, but not much. I can certainly recommend the Magnex system, very sweet.
Youll feel as if you are going faster anyway with all the new noises!
The more you see the better knowledge you will build up about what can go wrong and what does go wrong. But in many circumstances most things can be fixed by yourself. Keep looking, its out there somewhere.

Remember the front wings are plastic though!!! Oil pressure when cold and warm. Put a rag over the exhaust when running to hear any leaks! Ask if you can take out a spark plug to see the condition! Anything to put your mind at rest..but bear in mind that most will always need some kind of work...

No worries mate, always happy to help. If you do base your project on the 16V then I can always model the same on my car as they will be the same. Was planning on doing the induction thing myself as well as a quickshift. But I dont have that much time with work n all.
Werent you the one that...

Arrghh crap. Down nr Brighton myself. Shouldnt be a problem though as Pro Eng is pretty good at IGES files. Got lots down here including Catia, Solidworks, Maya and 3DS Max.
Pro Eng has a add-on called DVise which turns your 3D model into stereo so you can put on some glasses and review in...
Its just the pulsing from the exhaust that makes it sound similar, just dont give it full throttle at low revs. Or put on your OE airbox and just get a replacement filter.
The simplest would be a Viper type breather kit to replace the standard airbox, this can also include intakes moulded into the front bumper, vacuum vents in the bonnet etc...
Can be some cool CFD associated with this also, depending on CAD package you would use. Measurements can be endless but...
