With all the kit you are planning to put on it youll easily be bounching off the rev limiter in top.
To go any faster then youll have to change either your gearing or final drive.

Not a chance round here, as all the other clio drivers must think the the 172 stands for the age they must be before they buy them.
If you flash them it takes them ages for them, to work out what you have just done and then another 3 hours to work out how to work the full beam without turning...
Of course it is!! Unless it is fully charged already. The alternator is the charger and its kinda like a Wheatstone brige set up..if it needs charging it will charge it and if it doesnt it wont.
Not sure but it should be at 12V when switched off and when running be between 13-14.5V ish...

If it can come out of my Willy bay all in one then Im sure it will come out of your 19 in one.
I had to take the black cover that protects the 5th gear off of my gearbox to get that little bit of extra room but it WILL go.
Dont just hack it to peices!!
Have a good clear method which you take notes and bag up as you go along!!! ALWAYS label everything and even take pictures to help you later on when you come back to re-assemble it. Take care and be patient otherwise you will be in trouble and may cause more...
Theres not much prep work really.
Bonnet off, drain coolant, radiator out, remove airbox, battery and all electrics, fuel hoses, water hoses etc..
Underneath, wheels off and take out the top nut off the swivel hub, driveshafts off. Undo exhaust and engine mount..
Back to top and whip it...
If you drop it in now you wont really see any great gains in performance over you 16V, greater drivability maybe but thats it.
Get it striped and modded then you are 100% sure it is a go-er and will do what you want it to do! Otherwise youll only have to take it out again to mod it properly.
Easy M8.
But your best bet is to whip the whole lot out, it will save you a lot of hassle and make the re-alignment a whole load easier.
Get yourself a manual from Mr Haynes and a good clean spacious garage.
Had to take my Willy engine out and at first I thought it would be difficult...
Yep it is situate in the most awkward position of all, well apart from the oil filter!!
Looking down at your engine from the front..it is under the manifold at the right hand side, there are 3 bolts holding it in position, youll have to remove you airbox to get at it..best advice EVER is to...

Well if you are looking into more power and a re-build then why not get them done at the same time! All the top end would need tuning anyway with the cams etc.. so why not get the bottom end balanced and stuff as well, for not much more.
Perfect...bonjour Rodney.

It was me that told you to tighten it up, but check if it loose first!!
Remove the road wheel etc.. and knock out the pin that holds the drive shaft to the stub shaft, 5mm i think. Now slide off driveshaft and support it to stop the CV boot over-stretching and splitting. Make sure your...
As with many things in life, everything wears out in the end...it is part and parcel of mechanical bits.
I you accept this then you wont be suprised when they do go bang. Just ask the seller if he has replaced them and when..I would hope that these items are low down on your list of...
