I have a BMC carbon induction system in my 172. Basically the old airbox and air-intakes were removed,. The feed pipe is an 80mm green cotten twister pipe which atm is inside the passenger guard pointing down towards vents in the bottom of the sh*t guards. Would the system be any better (is...

Cant say about the 16v, but on my 172 the best thing I have done to it was fit a BMC CDA airbox system. amzing the amount of extra torque/responsiveness the car has now
wouldnt happen to know what the mintex part nos would be for a MK1 clio 172 (front/rear)??
And how would they perform for ordinary city driving/highway etc? take would perform better under extereme braking conditions (hooning??) than standard
why do you say not bothering with EBC ben? Is my thinking correct that if going to replace the pads with anything but standard, should replace front/rear with the same? never heard of mintex before.. prolly something cant get in aus :/
Appears that on the rear of my MK1 172, the drivers side brake pads have worn considerably more than the left hand side. what can cause this. is it fixable? Car goes a reno for its 40,000km service soon, so guess theyll sort it but was just curious
Also, since will be replacing the rear pads...
Thats what happens when the immobiliser system has detected the key. motor will turn over but not fire up.. id be getting that other key replaced and/or the immobiliser system checked out before the other key starts up the play up..

No No..... meant replacing the center silencer with a straight bit of pipe.. so the exhaust system goes cats->back box rather than cats->center silencer-?backbox

Ive had this before in my 172 Mk1, and the dealers replaced the center silencer. went away.. now its back again after 20,000kms.. So speaking to the dealer, rather than replacing it again (cuz sounds like itll fail again), looking at having it replaced with a straight section of pipe. so goes...
