Common issue. Lots of people have snapped them when tightening them up. Made of butter to stop you stripping the threads in the expensive to replace plenum/manifold.
As you said get the old ones out and just replace taking care to not over tighten them as you will be right back where you...
Well having spoken to him this evening seems he couldn't wait and took the car in to his local garage. They kindly relieved him of £190 to fit a new one.
Rather him than me having seen what you guys were asking for your used ones.
Mates starter motor has died on his 182.
Have had a search and see some people have had issues with non Renault parts as they didn't fit properly. Anyone offer suggestions on where to source one or is it going to be ££££ from Renault.
Also how difficult a job if fitting a new motor? Straight...
I followed one of the lads off here who has the JMS setup. I thought it was pretty loud. Very cool but not sure I could live with it every day. Personal choice as with everything.
When driving along the exhaust note is no different. The pops and bangs occur when you come off the throttle. Unburned fuel is dumped directly into the exhaust where the heat ignites it creating the pops and bangs along with the occasional flame out the back end. I believe JMS have a map that...
Strange things the old Recaros. As stated with sub frames and in good condition I've seen them sell easily for £800. But Ive also known them go for £550. I picked mine up about six weeks ago for a price somewhere between the two. :)
After speaking to those in the know I changed both cables even though only one of mine was broken. Each side is different but they cost about the same. Think I paid about £50 for the pair from my local Renault $tealer. The invoice was knocking about but the wife has filed it so may take some...
If I were you go to renault for the handbrake cable. My local, and usually reliable, motor factors supplied two different cables when mine went and neither fitted the car. Easy job once the correct cable was in hand.
I personally think of it only as a convenience feature. If I'm driving on the motorway for any distance I set it then no longer need to keep the accelerator pressed and so rest the old ankle.
If I wanted to save fuel then I would use my old foot as cruise is not IMO designed as a fuel...
Got my PM today Fred thanks. Assume the highlighted wasn't aimed at me as you listened to the noise yourself after the epic day fitting your favourite aftermarket exhaust to the car.
Hope the part manufacturer is going to cover your wasted labour costs.
Tell me more as I've had experience of these symptoms after a brand new dephaser pulley was fitted. Was told that it was likely to be lifters by a well respected specialist.
Can you only hear it when the engine is warm?
Does it disappear when the revs rise above 2k?
If the answer to the above is yes may be the hydraulic lifters.
NWperformance usually have good deals on OEM rear discs with the bearings and abs rings already fitted. For what they charge don't think you can do better IMO.
Very easy to change as long as you have a 32mm (I think) socket for the hub nut.
If you're referring to the Metro then LOL. The 620 on the other hand surprised a lot of GTi owners back in the day. I must admit that it did look like something my grandfather should have been driving.
