The problem with using bike bodies more often not is the throttle control. Bikes are obviously twist and go, requiring less force and movement between closed and WOT. When using them in a car they can be very off/on. However it has been done many times before.
I fancy trying my luck too.
I have recently had a baby, after spending £700 on a buggy, £1000 on a cotbed wardrobe etc setup, I am quite low on money. I am selling my Astra coupe to buy an Audi Estate. Oh I got a holiday planned too... what I was wondering Fred is if you would supply fit and...
Personally I don't like bike bodies on cars, there not nice to drive, as many have said there suited to 10k+rpm, something you won't be achieving. The power curve will be awful, nothing until peak power.
Did a trackday, car was great! Really enjoyed it. Car was so fun to drive. Pics here, vids to follow when I buy a card reader.
Think I may canvas this one, its awesome!
A quick lunchtime update...
Window winders fitted, and door cards off...
Weight saving ~ 3KG
I've also taken pics so I can do a guide for others to use:)
Passed the MOT, however the drivers electric motor died. So rather than replace I went to a scrappy and got these...
2x manual window regs, and a low spec dash:) More wiring to be removed:) Should save a bit of weight whilst being able to open my windows!
I assume you can buy the motor separate to the regulator? If so any ideas on cost? Is there a model that came with keep fit windows that I can retrofit into my track car?
I lost the heaters in my nova, I strongly suggest keeping them. I bought a heated screen for that in the end. Worked well. Doing a wet trackday seeing next to nothing is real FAIL!
Painted the 2.0 16v signs yellow
Hoovered and fitted the seats and harnesses...
I've also painted the rear wheels and am waiting to lacquer them tomorrow. So that should mean the car can be used again:)
I have Gaz on my coupe, had it on my nova. I like it no probs. Mates got them on his nova another on his golf another on his astra no problems at all. HOWEVER due to all the bad publicity they get on here I don't think I'll go for them on the Clio.
Another after work update...
Got my newly painted wheels balanced so waxed them with wheel wax, and fitted them. Made sure I loctited the studs in first. Make wheel changes so much easier!
Think the yellow rim makes it not look so small
Plenty of camber now!
I then figured out the HID...
Quick after work bit done. Lower arms and ARB back together, I then went to look at a mk1 clio 16v for a friend. There quite cool really.
All polybushed up
Lower arms and ARBs
Decat and arbs can be seen here. It has made the exhaust louder (Still well below track regulations) and now has...
So as a masochist I decided to tackle refitting the manifold, de cat AND do the ARB bushes at the same time. Both irritating jobs. However completed:)
A few pics:
Back together
De cat on, so the system is 2.5" yozza decat to a btb system:) Sounds good
Old worn bushes vs new ones, this...
Thanks matey
Cheers mate, yeah it not hard, get to the ecu then follow the colours back. Be careful of the handbrake light wire as it's part of the driver seat loom, remove that one and your fine to cut the drivers and passenger looms out. Pass airbag is easy to get out too. Drivers a bit more...
