Small pre-work update...
Both seats now in, thinking the passenger seat may be too far forward, it's alright for me but a 6ft+ person may struggle. lmao
I then set about removing the complete airbag system, all the wiring etc. I won, and as a bonus the airbag light went off:) Now to sort...
Thank you mate, I haven't driven it yet, doing a whole load of things together. However I'm pretty sure I will, on my astra coupe turbo it made a massive difference.
So as always I get carried away, so here's todays update:
I removed this lot, from the passenger side, originally my plan was to keep the front carpet. I removed it to remove the tar deanding stuff, this made me realise the carpet is actually quite heavy, it is rubber backed... so...
The...
Another update:
So I painted two front wheels. Ford Graphite Grey, I will be applying a yellow pinstripe around it. I was gonna go illuminous yellow, however I don't want extra attention from the Babylon! Note good use of crap tiles...
Then went for weight saving, took the twin horn set up...
Been a very busy few months for me. I have moved house, have a baby on the way which has meant buying baby related stuff... for example the rollcage has been replaced by a mamas and papas buggy, car seat blah blah lol
Here however is a small update of how it currently stands.
Whiteline RARB...
I found this with Whiteline products on my Astra Coupe. If there not in the country you have to wait till whiteline AU send them to whiteline UK who then distributes them. I bought Tweeks' last one:) They've put there price to £262 until they get in stock again. I do agree that you wanna order...
Agreed, with any cambelt there is a process. Depending where the tensioner is you should fit it a certain way. Not enough people are taught well/listen.
Like for example setting the cam timing when installing new cams, whilst shimming the lifters. People think it's an art, you just need to...
There's another thread on here where I say pretty much the same. The problem is to work on a car and open your garage you don't have to be any form registered, qualified even. So 'mechanics get branded the same'. I used to work and did my apprenticeship with the MET police, I did a 4 year...
Infact when people take there car to the 'mechanic' that ends of f-ing it up. Can these people define 'mechanic'... Is a mechanic someone who take of a part and fits a new one, or someone who can diagnose a problem with a vehicle, check it all out then replace the correct part that is wrong, not...
You work in the trade and wouldn't do one yourself... Really? When you say 'the trade' do you mean car salesman as I understand why you wouldn't do one yourself. I can't see why so many people get them wrong. I've done 2 now myself and got them both right. Get the timing tools and I can't see...
I'm with this answer. I once passengered a Cavalier round the ring that had Kumho V700's front, it was scary. You push as you feel grip through the wheel but the rear end can't keep up. Alot of opposite lock moments. On the road just take it easy and you'll be fine.
Lil update
Dash removed..
Reveals unwanted guests... say hi to the sound deadning
Brute force later
Then they tried to hide in the dash... WTF! This was gone too
WTF metal and foam stuff on the steering surround? WHY? That too went!
This thing weighs loads...
This is what my brake...
Cleaned the track day dirt of the clio and cleaned the coupe at the same time:)
Meguires wheel brightener is great! Got the DS2500 pad remains of the wheels with no need to even scrub:D (Both cars run these)
