Very interesting choice, would be high on my list as well.
What are the pros and cons of the 260 please?
My Renault garage is jointly owned with Mitsubishi hence the interest.
I am trying to gauge the future value of my car as private sale. Opinions please based upon experience of 172s in particular.
Based on a 182 with metallic, Cup packs, UK car, no previous owners, Renault service history.
1 year old with 12,000 miles £10,000
2 years old with 24,000 miles...
Somewhere at shell headquaters theres a fat executive laughing at you all and counting his share options ;)

You are what you eat ! as Quentin says.
Always used Optimax / Ultimate and always will. I do 1000 miles a week in my 182 so petrol cost is high on my priorities.
I get 39 mpg from my 182 ( computer says 40 )and it has only done 4000 miles now and is still loosening up. Mixed driving, mostly...
Go Cup, you will look like an import if not imo.
Will be easier to resell.
£200 bargain. Handles better as well.
Anthracite wheels look meaner and do not show brake dust.
Just been quoted £91 inc VAT by a Renault dealer. Change of Oil and Filter.
Sounds expensive to me.
Is this reasonable ? If not can anyone recommend an alternative please.
I am doing this as part of the run in procedure having done 2000 miles now.
I was offered 0% over 3 years as well but with no discount. I went credit card 0% over 6 months instead with approx 2k off list with cup packs and arctic blue. No charge for using credit card as well. Easy.
0 % over 3 years is a good deal if you are borrowing from a bank or lender. Do the maths !
I have just opted out of company car scheme, taken the cash and bought a 182 last month.
I do around 2000 miles a month so comfort was a major factor in my purchase.
I went for cup pack without it you have half the car. I do not regret this choice or my purchase. I actually look forward to...
1000 miles, no rattles at all yet.
Keep listening for the first one as I am expecting some to appear after reading this forum. Thought I had one yesterday, turned out to be a CD case in the glove box.
My Mk4 Golf Gti was stolen from my garage while I was asleep. Insurance company paid out within 4 weeks and gave me £9k for the Golf which I thought was very good for a T plate, so I added some savings and had a budget of about 15K. In the end I bought a 182 on credit card at the local dealer...
Performance car should equal performance fuel.
Optimax and Ultimate are not just about performance though, cleaning agents are included that are not there on supermarket fuel, hence it is cheaper. When Optimax originally became available I was drivng a vvti Celica, ( another high revving block...
I am getting 36 mpg mainly motorway driving at 65-70 and some A/B road blasts and that is working it out properly when I fill up.
Trip computer is a bit more optimistic showing 39 pmg average though and once showed 450 miles to next fill up.
From left field - Toyota Celica vvti. You should be able to pick one up with a few extras for 16k.
I know 140 bhp is low in this company but this is a well built car, quick not fast and can cruise at 100mph in 6th all day. I had one for 3 years, nothing went wrong and I hated handing it back...
Got the message, wont do it.
I love having both CC and a sunroof.
No point of CC on a crisp summer morning on the way to work or a cool summer evening on the way home.
Fresh air !!!!!!!
Had mine 10 days, only 1 strange problem which is with the cruise control.
Sometimes refuses to work. Turn the ignition off and restart seems to cure it.
Strange.
Fantastic car, really enjoying it.
Had my 182 for 10 days now, flashed by another 172 coming the other way last week.
Only one seen in 500 miles now.
M25, A1M area.
You are right, enjoyable to see peoles reactions as they turn and gawp. Seen plenty of Coopers and CTRs.
I have just changed from a Mk4 Golf Gti to a 182.
Sometimes I miss the conservative looks of my silver Golf, very smart, well built and understated.
Then I look out the window at my little french tart winking at me and I get a little stirring in my loins.
She is pure hardcore fun, fun...
