Today my 11 month old 172 was in for some warranty work; Creaking drivers side strut, when on full lock, which also occasionally clunks when going over potholes. Banging of engine when under hard acceleration, like most of them do. Rubber bonnet strip to be fixed in placed, to stop it...

172 for nearly a year, not at all bored with it....just want a bit more power.

My GFs 1.6 RXE is fairly accurate, but my 172, no chance! Can a dealer rectify this?

For my 172, worst was 28mpg town driving, best ~39mpg long motorway run. These are calculated at fill-up. The trip computer has ranged from 31mpg to 46mpg+ but seems to be reading ~20% over.

I pay FC £450 @ 33. This is with Frizzell, full NCB, one non fault accident and a named driver.

Have seen it on my MKII 172, once.

Mine bangs, but have only noticed it in the wet......

I had that problem when my 172 was new, but it seemed to clear itself after ~1K miles or so.

On the ESP/ABS side of things? Id have thought the tensioner would have given the airbag warning light? *shrugs* Renault it will be, and glad Ive got a good dealer to take it to, but am always after opinions from this site. You guysngals know your stuff.

Hi all. Started my 172 up this morning and noticed the Serv, ESP and ABS lights on. Have tried a search here, but nothing conclusive. Anyone able to shed some light as to what the possible cause could be? Its 7 months old with approx 4.5K on the clock. TIA.

I had a Civic do the same thing and rolled into my house, the owners alledged a known fault with the Civic handbrake.......? Living on a hill, and having a steeply sloped driveway, I always leave my cars in gear. There have been a few mornings when the 172 has rolled backwards upon dropping...

My 172 has given me from 29-39 mpg calculated at fill up. The display appears to be over reading by 20%+

My exhaust rattled on tickover, cant say I ever noticed a 4K rattle, but the mid section was replaced under warranty any way!

When I had a courtesy car they insured it for me at no cost. I was just made aware of the excesses on the policy.

Only had mine on two or three times.

Ive got a cold, feel run down, want to sleep....... Got a call from my GF ~12:20 this afternoon, the blipper on her Clio RXE had packed up. Dragged myself out of bed and went to rescue her in Cricklade, presuming that the batteries had gone. So traipsed around Cricklade, no luck finding one...
