Welcome Liftnub.
Silvers the best colour!
*ducks*
Everything youve said about yours is the same as mine, but for all its fault, its a damn great car! Plenty of fun to be had, but check the speedo, youll hit a ton before you know it:D
Okay, so Ive been to Bridges of Cirencester and Im amazed!:D
Right, no fault found, which backs up some of the claims here. Im not totally convinced so Ill probably file some of the switch away to make it come on sooner, but the customer relations was excellent!
They asked if I wanted to...
Aaarrrggghhhh!!!
So I took the car back to Minute this morning. As always very friendly and very helpful, but...... there is no way the switch can be adjusted....! (I agree!) So it was suggested I take the car to Fish Bros to find out if the switch can be replaced under warranty, then Minute...
Must admit, not been following the Swindon meet thread, but it would be nice to get to know some of you. Ill go and read the thread now to find out when it is and let you know.
Took it into Minute, unfortunately they only had one mechanic in, so they couldnt look at it today. Will pop in first thing Monday morning. (giz a job!)
Also looked at the pedal and switch, it does seem that the plunger is somewhat sticky as it comes out in its own time, not when the pedal is...
I test drove a new MK2 172 about 18 months ago and it definately had a one shot on the passenger side, my GF was playing with it. The window! :)
I also found a sales brochure yesterday for the Clio Sport 172, dated September 2001. It states in the Equipment List;
Electric front windows with...
Blinked and theres a reply!
I deffo have to push it a fair way, which would equate to some reasonable braking before the lights come on.
Ill take it to Renault Minute in the morning.
Cheers for the quick reply.
I often use cars behind as a check whether my brake lights work or not. You can usually see the lights reflecting back.
Earlier I tried a gentle touch to my brakes and nothing. I have to press the brake peddle quite a way before the lights will actually come on. My past cars have only required...
IIRC older 172s had one touch on both sides, certainly on the one I test drove, it was even listed in one of the older Clio catalogues, not to hand.
But my 03 172 is driver side only and the later catalogue doesnt have passenger side listed.
My GFs RXEs speedo sometimes sits at zero. Banging the dash brings it back.
Renault Minute said it could have got some dirt on the mechanism, but being a non-servicable item theyd have to replace it.....
Not much help, sorry.
Ive a 172, tramlines nicely, steering wheel sits to the left nearly all the time. Im lead to belive that this is a standard feature but my steering isnt heavy. Far from it, if anything its too light!
Tyres do look down when viewed, although Ive not checked the pressures, and yes I do get pull...
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I did try a search before this post.
Can anyone tell me how to fit the cargo net in the boot? My feeble braincell cant seem to work it out....
Cheers.
Heres an altavista translation of that page;
