I often use cars behind as a check whether my brake lights work or not. You can usually see the lights reflecting back. Earlier I tried a gentle touch to my brakes and nothing. I have to press the brake peddle quite a way before the lights will actually come on. My past cars have only required...

IIRC older 172s had one touch on both sides, certainly on the one I test drove, it was even listed in one of the older Clio catalogues, not to hand. But my 03 172 is driver side only and the later catalogue doesnt have passenger side listed.

My GFs RXEs speedo sometimes sits at zero. Banging the dash brings it back. Renault Minute said it could have got some dirt on the mechanism, but being a non-servicable item theyd have to replace it..... Not much help, sorry.
