HELP - clonk from steering!

  Meg on pistonheads £6995

got a clonk/creak from drivers side steering - most noticeable when reversing off drive at angle or slow turns on uneven ground.

sods law, it started the day before I got 17s and lowered suspension fitted!

any ideas?

will Reno try and void my warranty & blame the mods?

Bearing? Thats what Citroen reckon is causing the similar creak on my missus brand new C8 :(

Jack it up and try and rock the wheel if it moves itll be the bearing, other than that it could be the CV joint.

Got a similar problem on my month old 172. Only seems to happen when I turn to the right over uneven ground. Local dealer had a look and reckoned there was a mod they could do to fix it which meant it had to go into the bodyshop (didnt specify what was to be done). This was done 2wks ago and was quiet for a week but has now reappeared.

If you find out anything I would be interested to know.

by the time you hear a noise your cv joint will be knackered and youll need a new driveshaft.do the gaitor asap.
