My trackcar / ringtool is a 172.1. Over the last years I have done almost every mod to the car I can imagine. Last year i haven't tracked the car very much but I am planning to race like crazy next year!
This is why i am reading the forum again. Now I hear all this about easy performance gains...
No, I live in The Netherlands.
I have checked the movement of the engine. Rock solid. All KTEC mounts en bushes. No movement at all.
The Retainers and Forks have all been revised by a Renault Sport Specialist. When the problem occurred he first checked to box by opening it. No problems found...
@NorthloopCup: you're right, I know ... ...
Engine movement should be visible when revving at standstill?
What's the best way to check for the right linkage setting?
Any idea how to check if the retainers are the problem?
Thanxs for your answers. Really helps me.
I don't have ABS (anymore) on my car.
I don't heel and toe. Never tried it. Could be the solution ... ...
I do brake on the engine.
On the Ring you have to brake really hard in third gear. The cars revs from all the way up to all the way down real quick. That's when it pops out. So, it pops out...
Just a bit: my car pops out of third gear under heavy braking on the track. Really tried everything.
Under hard braking the rpm's fall back very quick and it makes the engine stumble a bit (I think).
Maybe the stumbling makes it kick the third gear out.
So i was wondering if the higher idle...
On track, under heavy braking, my 172-1 pops out of third gear.
The gearbox itself is revised, i have all mounts upgraded, tried a heavy gear knob ... ... really tried everything but cannot solve the problem.
Anyone any idea?
New problem with my GLK: when braking hard from high revs in third gear, the shifter pops to neutral.
My mechanic says its the weight of the rod under the car that causes the problem. Would you guys thinks so?
Gearbox and engine mounts all like new. Never had the problem with standard...
I have seen a 738 Cup racer engine for sale.
Does anyone know the difference between this engine and the standard 172?
Right know i'm running 172, v6 airbox, 182 manifold, KTEC full exhaust. Will the Cup racer engine give me more power (after remap)?
In my case it's not the reverse lift spring that causes the rattle. If i drive the car without the shaft, spring and knob the ratlle is just the same.
I really do understand that's a competition part and therefore small rattles should be expected. But i also believe that (in my case) the rattle...
Allright so mine's not the only Shifter that rattles!
Can someone please explane what this means:
"if you jubilee clip on a weight at different points on the connecting rod"
What is the suggestion to do to reduce the rattle? How and where exectly do i have to put these jubilee clips?
Thanxs...
Had my Gear Linkage Kit mounted today. Shifting gears works great but the thing rattles like hell when driving. Pushing the gear knob slightly forwards (push pressure on it) makes it dissapear. Do i have to accept this sound because of the lack of teflon parts or is the something wrong with it?
I am getting crazy. Dropped a screw from he dash in the vent. Its the screw at the front window, holding the dash.
At every corner i can hear the damn thing rolling. I just cant figure out where it went. Tried something with a magnet but that didntnwork.
Does anyone has a good idea or a...
When I see pictures of my cornering on the Ring, I always think I need more camber in the rear:
What would be good settings for the front and rear camber? Would standard minus 1 (total of 2.3 / 2.5) be too much?
I am running a complete cup racer (ns edition) suspension.
Normally I don't go over to everyone with a Clio for a conversation. I just noticed your fine cars and the 'ClioSport Stickers'.
I really think the 3 deads are a rumor instead of being a fact.
Maybe we meet next year (Look for this RS in your mirrors!)
Thats not actuallly me in the picture...
