4K maybe a little less He's a good bloke, doesnt rag his cars just doesnt take as much care as i do. He had a large service last year (independant garage) and had gaiters, window regs, exhaust, shocks, cambelt done etc

No FSH but a few stamps and cambelt last year... bloke who owns it is a freind, has had it from new but isnt great on the old servicing!!

As my other thread i'm looking at getting another 172, but is it worth paying an extra few K for a 182? Do they drive better? obviously faster? Cheers J

Sold my last 172FF 18months ago but wouldnt mind another... Have been looking at a 52 172 with 70k on the clock, do these engines last or will i be looking at a new engine in 10k? its had an ok life but not pampered. I will be taking it to the Ring and will also be doing a few track days...

My 172 has developed a very bazar un-sure feeling when braking. Steering wheel pulls left, whilst cars pulls to the right when braking. It does it at above 15mph. There is also a creaking coming from the left side.(which may not be related) It does not appear to be a brake calliper...

A217 reigate/gatwick way? Was in the pub from 6 so not me... fairly easy to spot at the moment as i have three grey wheels on and one silver!!

Look out for me then, spend most my time in kingswood/walton on the hill/reigate etc.. silver mk2 172 with newly refurbd alloys in ford nimbus grey!

Mine is second but you can get them from Motorsportworld. Fitting wise i got it done at mr exhuast(work came with a warrenty!), £30 but i couldnt be assd to put it on the stands etc (bolts had also been rounded off) Not gonna tell my insurance... Off to mr exhaust then...

Just had a janspeed de-cat fitted to my car mk2 172, under hard acceleration its now touching/banging/hitting something? Anyone had this? No how to fix? Cheers

could this happen on a mk2 172? mine ideas a tad rough and the mpg computer does not read after 40/30 miles left? Is it expensive, does it affect performance? Cheers

im having my done this week (not by fred as the distance was a problem) Having them done in a colour matched to ford dark metallic grey... thought the anthracite and black was to dark. Will post some pics friday whwn i pick them up. Mines a silver mk2. James

Having my wheels done tomo, cant decide what colour to have them done.. Anyone got pics of silver mk2 172 with standard wheels in a darker colour, dont wanna screw up so may stick with silver!! Cheers

Just taken it all apart!! its the fan itself that makes the noise only to worsen when in contact with the plastic casing, just poor quality. is that fan important? can the aircon/heater live without it?

This is my sensible car!! How much will the noise increase with just the decat? can you still talk in the car? would rather the de-cat as its a ton cheaper just dont want to ruin the car like i ve with every other one, Jessie!! my 205 has a group N....NOW THATS LOUD
