Hi People,
Does anybody have a picture of a rear shock leaking on a 172/182? I *think* my drivers side may be leaking on my Cup but can't decide whether it could just be road gunge as it was raining earlier.
Have wiped it dry to see if it comes back.
Thanks
If you want a machine that doesn't take up much space, have you considered an iMac?
I got myself one from the Apple refurb store over a year ago, saved about £200 over the price of a regular one and you would never know it wasn't new (From what I've read most of the time they go back for...
The 1.8t lump you are referring to that has been fitted in the Golf, Leon, Octavia, TT, A3 etc. is definitely not 5 cylinders, it's 4. The reason many people think of it as having 5 is because it has 20 valves, but this is because each cylinder has one extra inlet valve rather than the usual 2...
I know this is going to sound boring but remember to factor in depreciation when working out if you'll be better off.
The insurance may be a couple of hundred cheaper over a year, but the R27 will lose more in value per month than the car you already have. Ok, so if it does lose a hundred or...
I must admit, that sounds very shoddy from Fasthosts, is there a chance they may have misunderstood what you were asking? Do they definitely look after the domain (not just the Website) for you?
As for only allowing an IP address for mail routing, are you sure they aren't looking after the...
Do you definitely need to sell the Cup? I've got a Cup (my second) and I have a 3 year old. I had my first Cup and traded it in for a Golf (MK4) Anniversary but eventually went back to another Cup.
I haven't found space a problem, pushchair + extras fit fine in the boot. The other thing I've...
I've got a K-tec Stealth MK2 fitted to my Cup, haven't had any of the problems of it showing from the rear that others have but do have a question about visibility of it further up the car.
I've have new rubber mounts so I know they are good and in general I'm happy it's been well fitted...
Hi Chris - really nice pictures.
Were you using the Nikon 80-200mm f2.8 AF-S you have listed in your kit on smugmug? Do you use a teleconverter, and do you ever use the lens wide-open, i.e. 2.8, for motorsport or is the depth of field too small?
Also, does your lens have VR and is it useful...
Just to add my t'pence.
I have a 400d and last week got the opportunity to use it solidly for 3 days (on hols). The things I really came back thinking (which really agree with what others have said) -
The Canon 50mm 1.8 is fantastic. I bought it when I first got the camera because I wanted a...
Have you considered something like a Panasonic FZ50 bridge camera? Loads of range available from the single lens, ok you don't get the flexibility you have with an SLR but could cover what you need and save you some wedge?
The metal gasket that sits between the cat and the middle section of the exhaust on a 172 seems pretty useless from what I can see. It's paper thin and doesn't look like it could help seal much, does anybody recommend using some kind of exhaust/high-temp gasket sealant?
Fitted a new exhaust...
Seek out your nearest decent sized supermarket or diy place, e.g. a Sainsbury's or a B&Q and look for the households odds and sods section and get yourself one of those lint removers for clothing.
They are usually a hand-held roller and you rub them over suit jackets to remove stuff which is...
Ooooeer, how do you know it's crash-safe? I take confidence in the fact the factory produced stuff is certified fit for the FIA stamp, but a home-made effort sounds a bit ifffy?
I recently ended up with a set of 4 Yokohama A539s, I say ended up because I had 4 Goodyear F1s put to one side for me but when I went to have them fitted they had c0cked up a little and fitted them to someone elses car (turns out it was a mate of mine so wasn't really that bothered - at least...

I thought it was the acoustic valve removal, but I'm not so sure.
Google's...
I've been reading through the tyre poll and it's clear there are lots of different opinions on what's good/bad!
So similar to the tyre poll I'm after people's experiences on tyres, but this time for the track *only* i.e. not bothered how they operate on the road I'm just really keen to hear...
Seen lots of threads about the dust from Performance Friction pads eating into alloys/paintwork, but I haven't really found any comments on whether the Pagid Blues are similar.
Anybody had any experience of this, how do the compounds compare (I know the PFs are deemed slightly more...
Anybody know the standard exhaust is in DB and the new k-tec steakth MK2 for that matter?
Making my mind up over this isn't as easy as I thought. Got no issues driving to Prospeed, but at the same time I'm also happy to fit a K-tec or GDI myself. Arrghhh...
