Small ish update.
Exhaust is on. And, well I think might be a tad too loud lol. Didn’t even test it properly. Bouncing on the rev limiter at 3k while oil still under 60deg it maxed at 103db. My gauge could be lying. Or it amplifies the sound being close to the garage wall I don’t know. But not...
Yeah that’s my biggest worry! But mine is turbo so quieter than NA. I have sports cat as well and Fitting this Center silencer. The biggest one I could find that would fit. 625mm. In comparison, Ktec Center section I had was only 400mm. (And back box is 400mm as well. So effectively I am going...
Well in that case I suggest wait a bit till I test hahaha especially on the exhaust.
Mind you, that’s another 11kg I am saving with new side exit. So total loss should be close to 25kg. I am really really aiming for less than 900 on a turbo car.

March 2019
Although most has been happening in feb.
First thing first.
My stolen SQ5 has been recovered. According to insurance it’s a write off. Ohh well at least got offered a semi-decent payout. So yesterday picked up this bad boy. Should work nicely as a tow vehicle.
Back to the Clio...
Great exhaust mate! Needs a diffuser defo! Working on a plan for my own exhaust. Hehe Good luck tommorow! It will be absolutely fine! You done a great job in it!

Cable ties and gaffer tape [emoji23]
But in all seriousness, don’t bother. Unless you gonna carry spare parts you won’t be able to fix much on the day. Just take it slow! Learn the track and the car! Make sure all fluids are new or at least at correct level. Keep an eye on temperatures. Don’t...
That is some clean fabricating mate! Love it! Quite interesting how you going to mount it. Is it going to be same as mine on the column itself?

Thanks mate. I was here as well. Tried to scare them of but not successful. Decided I like racing too much so called the cops instead.

Last week wasn’t the most pleasant of weeks.
Had my house broken in to for keys. SQ5 tow vehicle gone. it has been recovered already. Some eagle eye seen them park it somewhere (in case it had GPS) and called the cops. but it is at the impound still with the forensics. Not seen it yet. So yeah...
Yeah I used a wire wheel as well to clean as much as possible. 0.8mm welding sucks! At least I wasn’t upside down lol.

New intercooler arrived.
Obviously it’s heavier than original.
So some of the weight I lost I immediately put back. But I’m my head benefits are greater than 1.5kg difference.
Made new brackets for it out of half box section. Lick of paint and we good to go.
Fits perfect! I am happy :) and...
The calipers were meant for his own car that he never built. They were brand new so I paid the price. Discs were done by Godspeed (he knows the guy well)
Honestly don’t remember exactly how much it was because he did more setting up and helped fit them so I paid for everything together. Can be...
Feb 2019
First thing first.
AST5100 (110/90) fitted
Won’t be able to test for a little while as started with my weight loss program.
Phase 1 complete
Front crash bar completely removed and replaced with smaller support bar.
Also trimmed everything else that is not essential.
Material...
That is very neat idea about gearbox temp! I been wondering how hot it gets and even used infrared gun on the casing. Not sure how this info would help in anyway unless you (or me) were planning to have gearbox oil cooler fitted. But very interesting nevertheless. Infrared gun was showing around...
2019 Jan. Can’t believe in couple of months it will be 2 year since I bought this banger lol
Few upgrades are coming in a couple of weeks.
Also swirl pot, flat boot floor, diffuser, sideskirts, and custom front member..
Also had a shake down after winter at Bedford to reveal any faults...
Do about 8k a year in this. Had for 3+ years. Best car ever! If it wasn’t so bloody thirsty lol
No replacement for displacement [emoji41]
They don’t make em like that any more:
4.2 V8
Manual 6 speed
Quattro
415hp (+- 30hp depending on it’s mood lol)

I am 6”4’ so yeah a little taller [emoji1787]
It’s attached to column with a roll bar bracket from eBay. And a second support to prevent flex.

Great work you doing there mate. It’s a pleasure to read every time :)
Regarding hinges, I think the way you wanted them to attach to doors was always a slightly wrong way of doing it. They are light but not that light. No amount of weld around studs will hold them in place. I mounted mine...
I am sorry but my opinion is this. When a car is that old and not desirebale (1.4 ) when engin goes bang, it’s usually scarp metal. For the money it will cost you to source new engine and do a swap (even if you did all the work yourself) you may as well buy a new car instead. Sell for parts...
I have DTA NT-Dash in mine. Very happy. Fully customisable. Not the cheapest out there.
Mine has GPS and data logging.
But that ADU by ECU MASTERS does look sick! Good bit of kit!
