I only had one working car at any time so I had a legitimate tax disc lol The rest donored parts to keep the primary car working.
Only once did I sell for a profit - a 205 Gentry I made about £200 on - that got converted to a GTi6 engine by the next owner.
I still have one shell from 2009 thats...
Are you my brother from another mother lol
I had 6 205 gti's at one point as they were cheaper to buy another than repair. I scrapped so many as they had no value. If I had storage space and some foresight I'd be better off.
Now that moment has also passed with the Clio Mk2. I said to a few...
Front is too low on the passenger side as the car settled. I scraped all the way to the garage lol Thats a simple fix I can do in 5 minutes.
They are going to get the car on the ramps and see if we can wire down the exhaust tunnel and into the car next to the gearlever instead of the bulkhead as...
We are back on four wheels!
I drilled two holes for the wiring at the rear and connected the cables. I’ve done a temporary (bodge) seal with roofing rubber sealant as I need to find a more permanent wiring route but hey...this is a test!
I reckon I can wire into the lighter wiring for power but...
Its a road kit so I think you will find it too soft - much like a set of springs and dampers.
Look at the GAZ GHA as an entry level. Save up an extra month but I think you will benefit more.
Clio 182 - I need to run a power cable to the battery in the enginebay along with some other wiring. Has anyone run cables to the interior without majorly stripping the car down?
I cannot really use a longacre bulkhead terminal as I have suspension wiring to add in too (electronic damping)
Only 100% metallic pads like CL brakes don’t require bedding in. As far as I know Hawk pads still need a bedding in process and will transfer some material to the disc.
they do have some aggressive compounds. Race pads designed for short race events tend to not have the disc or pad life as a...
Sadly there is no standardisation for measuring braking friction so the comparison of graphs gives you an idea of how the pads react to temperature but nothing else. Friction can change based on clamping load and many other factors on a test rig
Oh and new front ABS sensors are fitted> I'm using these as support for running the front wiring out of the wheel wells.
So I need to run two front damper cables through the bulkhead.
I need to run the power cable through the bulkhead and connect to the battery (its looking a bit short on wire...
Other side is 95% done. I've not swapped one track rod end at the moment as I was concerned I'd round off the nut. It's booked in for MOT and front alignment next Wednesday so I'll tackle that when on the garage ramps as access will be more convenent.
It was definitely the worst side. The Sachs...
The unit is getting a reshuffle so the pressure was on to get the car rolling. I needed to build one side.
Couldnt get the abs sensor off due to a rounded nut so cut the cable to enable me to remove the hub.
Took a blowtorch to the track rod end and got that off easy. I undid the outer ball...
Hard to determine from the video how bad it is but you can easily go to a 9kg front spring and that may give you a little more compliance. The lighter the chassis the softer the car can be sprung
Yes we supply them :D Its a big price to pay so not something I generally push on the Renault market but it becomes more competitively priced on higher end sports and supercars.
For a road car you want suspension movement / travel. I'd take a finger in the air a good coilover setup not much stiffer than standard - maybe 100lb firmer as a starting point. I think Bilstein run 400lb fronts off the top of my head but a softish rear for stability in wet conditions. (I...
Its a lovely kit with a great attention to detail on its components compared to most suspension I've handled. I think Nitron are good in this respect too.
Fronts are now 90nm (down from 110nm) and the rear is 105nm.
I developed this kit with Tractive originally for full slicks so it had...
I'm going to ignore wiring for now as I'm not looking forward to trying to find a suitable hole front and rear to run the suspension electronics through
Jacked up the front and got to work.
Its surprising how bad brakes can look after 6 months shut away.
So far everything has come off quickly...
We already know lol
However the OS is very slick and its a bit more of a faff to jump ship to Andriod and be able to transfer all data.
My phone is a rather broken iPhone 6 and other than the terrible battery and broken screen its working ok. I do need a replacement though now.
Only real...
I might even have a spring on the shelf for you. I have a range of BC and Eibach on the shelf. Maybe we can get lucky :D
Just would need to know the spring height so we can match it.
