Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Trouble is mate. When someone’s best is scratching 3 of your 4 Porsche wheels which are £7k a set. You get a bit fussy about it. That was the best wheel/tyre shop in the area by some way. Annoyingly I’ve got a tyre machine and wheel balancer at work but due to the nature of what we do, I can’t...

    Rusty’s Titanium 182 take 2!

They’re not expensive so feel free to try them. You can always sell them on as the youngsters are always up for a bit of style over substance. 😂

I drive from Maldon in Essex to Ruislip. I’ve had too many bad experiences with so called specialist tyre shops that turn out to be useless. I think it’s the biggest agro getting anything done on a car. Now I’ll only use Richard Maguire at Ruislip Tyres. 😅🤦🏽‍♂️

    Rusty’s Titanium 182 take 2!

Unless you go Ti then all the studs are motorsport items and just high grade steel. All of them will corrode I’m afraid. Giving them a liberal wipe of ACF50 will certainly starve off any corrosion for a good while. If you stay with bolts then the Polarised items from TPI seem to stay nice for a...

    Rusty’s Titanium 182 take 2!

That looks really smart. Do yourself a favour and dont go any more than 5mm spacers on the turinis. Due to the chamfer in the rear of these wheels, you cant run a laregr slip on spacer or you have nothig to locate the centre of the wheel on. The experts of the internet will tell you its okay to...

No they will be bare, the R888s still have over 50% life so wil be going on my X3MAs. Just need to do the 3 hour round trip to the only guy i trust to fit wheels and tyre properly. lol

De sticker it and sort the calipers and it will look night and day already. Cracking base car for a project mate and agree 100% mileage on these is no reflection of conditon. Mines just about to clip 129k and ive seen some right sheds with less than half that number. Also agree silver, lowered...

@gambit Hope these help dude, I took some basic measurements for you from the hub face. These are 15x7 ET38. Also got them all sealed up with some KKD Revolve X. Kitchen makes for decent lighting, my Mrs doesn’t even bat an eye anymore. 😅

My new RS200 .Some car. Love it.

So what you're saying is, youre old enough to know better! I too am ex blue oval, hence my jest. :) Think they just called it the RenaultSport Clio200, same as the Clio 197, 182, 172 etc.

My new RS200 .Some car. Love it.

Congrats on the new wheels, looks ver y nice. I always laugh when i see RS200, as an RS200 to me was built in 1984 and had an intercooler in the roof an 2 dampers on each corner. :D

I can measure the spoke clearance from the hub face if you want mate. They have a lot more clearance than a 2118 I think.

    Dash painting

Something I want to do and have been thinking about for a long time. The problem is finding the right product & colour. I did consider hydro dipping but I can’t find anyone that I think can get it right.

    incy-spiders Clio 182 turbo

If there are telltales on the bonnet and they lay flat in the bonnet then you’ll see the air pressure is holding them flat. If they stand up and dance then the air there isn’t clean and low pressure. Then try and log some temps if you can. 🙂

    incy-spiders Clio 182 turbo

You have the most pressure there at the front of the car. As long as the cooling pack is tight, Ie all rads/coolers close to eachother then you should be good. If you start spacing them from one another then the air spills out the sides. Keep them tight and if possible, box them in. If you can...

    incy-spiders Clio 182 turbo

Guess the simplest way now that the bonnet is fitted is to attach ribbons on the bonnet near and around the vent and watch the airflow. Also get a k type thermocouple in the engine bay and log the temps at various crusing speeds with the vent taped up. Then repeat with the vent untaped. Without...

    incy-spiders Clio 182 turbo

As stated, you already have an area under the bonnet of high pressure. So the pressure in the engine bay is likely to be greater than that flowing over the top section of the bonnet. That area by the scuttle and lower screw is quite a low pressure area. The air is being forced around the front...

    incy-spiders Clio 182 turbo

I like the idea of a Naca duct there but as a single vent I think it’s placement doesn’t look right. Perhaps a pair would look better. If a single vent I think it needs to be more offset. I can see why it’s positioned where it is, but I think you’re better off letting heat out as opposed to...
