Get the airbag warning turned off using the “Clip” software. Your local Renault specialist will have this, maybe even a local member may have a copy they can do it for you.
For anyone else reading this, i toshed this together on paint (fortunately my engineering skills exceed my PC skills) to show what makes a NLC/BCM hubs different.
This isn't a dig at the plug & play kits out there, some of them are beautifully finished with very high quality materials and...
Not sure about the PMS, but the Pro-Am kit is also a plug and play item that has seen some failures.
Pro-Am then did improve the material and requested they be fitted in the setting that provides the least amount of stress on the ball joint extenders. Ive not seen/heard of another failure of...
If the car doesn’t get massive use, Bilt Hamber Dynax UC should do well. It’s clear in finish and can be applied to all areas. Just obviously mask your braking surfaces. But it will keep the bar and associated pars covered in a clear calcium wax.
If you’re buying new, I’d get the Northloop cup setup from Alan at Bridgecraft Motorsport. They’re the only RCK kit that machine the hubs to make the ball joint extenders fit properly.
I daily on R888s in the summer and PS3 for winter.
2 of my R888s are getting low, might buy 2 more or replace the set with AR1s. I know Nangkang are releasing a new tyre this year between an NS2R and the AR1 called the CR1. These could be a great summer road tyre. 🙂
As Lewis mentions above, if youre just undoing the shifter at the base and not touching the shift rob, no realignment will be required.
One out, one in :)
That's the worst part, the time. Its very very time consuming, so doing it in little segments makes it a bit more bearable. It would be nice if my car wasn't a daily and i could strip it of all panels and trim and just do it all from start to finish.
Yes that's perfect, I've got a full set of...
Yep, i didnt initially buy the 2mm Noico, Dodo and Silent Coat were out of stock and i wanted it on the quick so used Amazon prime lol.
You could probably get away with using 1.8mm everywhere if you just want to buy one deadening product. Of the 2 products, the Dodo is a little nicer to use than...
The experts recommend covering 50-75% of the panels and focus on the large flat surfaces. Areas that have a swage or return in them will be mechanically more ridged so less likely to resonate. I worked my way around the doors knocking the panels to hear what had the most sound transmission and...
Completed the passenger door this morning, using the exact same materials and method.
Then on my way to work, I re run the same test.
Same app, same road, cruise on at 50mph. It sure doesn't look pretty but it makes a bloody big difference inside the car. Id loved to have been able to do the...
Made a start on the doors today. The first time these doorcards have ever been taken off, they were super tight and were pretty grubby behind. Fully lined with Dodo 1.8mm Hex, then lined with Dodo Superliner. I double foam lined behind the speaker area.
Interior skin was particularly buzzy so...
The bass trap tile is layer 3 in that location anyway with the super liner directly under it. So I don’t see how it can form condensation in there as it would need moisture and a heat source. I’ve only ever seen a few drips ever find their way in from the rubbing strip fixing holes. It’s all...
Big £££ for a 240bhp motor and supporting mods though and a fragile F4R at that level. Oncost of rebuilds wouldn't be cheap either, not to mention being a pain in the arse.
I totally get why someone would want to keep it Renault, but given the amount of work already required, a K20 will be...
