I would say that it’s not a Moza thing, just a decent wheel/DD thing. You definitely notice when the FFB is too heavy in a road car when you have a wheel with decent torque, but you don’t with a G27.
Well, week one with the Moza. Been interesting!
So first things first, the actual quality of the thing has been spot on, no complaints there. It’s clearly well made, the resolution of the wheel is really impressive and I’ve already mentioned the flipping power of the thing.
What I wasn’t...
They’re in stock now so should be next working day delivery.
It’s in the living room, but I’ve got everything on one plug and one USB cable, unplug that and it’s on PTFE sliders so slides off to the back corner of the room when it’s not in use.
Just did 20 odd laps at Le Mans in the R8. Full strength. The wheel base hit 52.5 degrees
Pretty hot, but it seemed to be handling things fine, I didn't notice the force feedback dropping off or anything. Considering the fact that I was hanging off the thing through the Porsche curves I'm quite...
Well after about two hours of cocking about I got the Moza installed and cable managed etc.
Time to get in game. And f**k me, this thing has some power. Did about ten straight laps in a 992 GT3 car and it was a proper workout, but there’s so much feeling it’s unreal. The wheel reacts super...
Yeah we’re going to need pictures. Plenty of Scooby/rally fans on here (myself included), @massiveCoRbyn recently did Snetterton stages in a Group N hatch STI.
And it goes without saying that we’re absolutely going to need pictures of the Escort too.
Nobody here has a clio, get the other projects posted 👍
Welcome to the forum, tonnes of info here and some great (pisstaking, can you tell?) members too.
Oh Overclockers you cocktease. No sooner had I phoned them this morning, then this little beauty pops into my inbox.
'let me just check... yeah everything's in stock now so your order will be dispatched this afternoon'
WUT
Phoned OCUK to find out what was happening with the wheel. The base was in stock but the wheel was on preorder. Turns out they won't ship the base before the wheel comes in as it's all one order, and because I reordered, I went to the back of the preorder list for the wheel so have to wait for...
Overclockers UK. Moza direct wanted £130 in postage! To be fair, the actual steering wheel is on preorder but I’m expecting the base soon.
A lot of people say that 20+nm is a waste of money and that 12-15 is about right, so I think the R12 is the one to go for, if you’re willing to spend the extra.
A lot of telematics companies geofence permanent tracks tbf. But temporary venues, closed roads, car parks, still do, and there’s no guarantee that they geofence anything at all especially when you don’t even know it’s happening.
The manufacturers don’t necessarily care if the data is exact...
Telematics is absolutely nothing new. Built into the car, reporting to most insurers and turned on without your knowledge, that's the new bit.
We have telematics too in the work vans but to say it's ropey is an understatement. I've seen someone hit 60 in a 20 in a work van once and nothing was...
Interesting tidbit of news.

So, you buy a car, the dealer activates Smart Driver without your knowledge because they get a kickback for signing you up to it.
Smart Driver is a service that, on the face of it...
Cancelled the Moza R9 preorder.
Going for the R12 instead. Apparently doesn’t suffer the same overheating issue that some R9s have had, obviously has more peak torque but also has better detail throughout. Will still go with the ES wheel though.
