Boom
The little Clio has cost me a fair few hours of pain and misery over Christmas, but I believe I've saved at least £200 doing it myself, so happy days.
Now it's got a full MOT the price has trebled I'm afraid, yours now for £150
So the Cup failed the re-test:disappointed:
Apparently the n/s caliper is now showing almost no effort whatsoever, still causing an imbalance. One thing I didn't check was the rear compensator, will have a look tomorrow to see if that can solve the situation, maybe there is no fluid getting to...
Thanks man. That's good news, now there hub & bearing are on and torqued up there shouldn't be any issues, hopefully, but good to know for the future :)
Typical eh! Getting there slowly
I built my old 106 Gti track as a complete novice car using nothing but a Haynes manual and the internet. As long as you do your homework, be thorough and aren’t afraid to ask questions you’ll be fine mate.
(Then again, 106s are held together by about 3 bolts and some pritt-stick, so a bit...
Also, just cause I haven't got anything else on with the damn car... one of my front headlight bulbs has gone now. Wtf is going on!
Read they're a bit of a pain to swap without taking front bumper off (which I can't be arsed with) so really looking forward to that.
Yes I've heard that, my point was I've also gone OEM upfront as well - would have upgraded but funds just won't allow it. They should do a pretty decent job anyway being brembo!
I did consider this, I really hope not. Anyway, the disc is on, it's done now. Hopefully won't cause me any...
Few things to update on this one!
So firstly, the Clio got annihilated on its MOT on Thursday :pensive:
Thankfully, a fair few of the failures can be fixed a new set of discs and pads all round. But due to funds it's going to take a while, and with MOT garages closing up for holidays, it likely...
Nice homework btw, checking the MOT history.
In my defence, I asked them to stick the plate on before the test (as I didn't have any tape) - for some reason they decided to completely ignore that and just add it to the failure list - just from that you can tell the MOT tester had it in for me...
Fair point.
Hoping that when I come to changing pads tomorrow, I'll push the pistons back into the calliper and will hopefully free them up a bit? Meaning the offside shouldn't bind and therefore balance out both sides? Am I on the right tracks here?
Took my Cup in for it's dreaded MOT today, and surprise surprise, it failed- on quite a few things.
I know this one has been mentioned a few times across this forum
*Brakes imbalanced across rear axle*
It's also failed on worn rear discs, so I'm obviously going to get these changed along with...
Decent question, thought that as I wrote it haha.
But in seriousness, I do believe it made a big difference when trying to start the car especially in colder weather. It was a project car and only got started every now and again, but only took about 0.299792458 seconds for it to fire up, even in...
Hi there,
On 4 random occasions now, my 172 has refused to start. Turn the key and just a click and nothing, engine won't even turn over.
Strange because the lights and wipers still worked absolutely fine
Try a few times, maybe leave it a few mins, pump the throttle peddle (don't know if that...
I honestly adore these cars. Saw one at Goodwood a few years back, in the same paint style but in Red... a sort of carbon weave paint job.
In the flesh it was absolutely stunning.
My top 5 Supercars...
1. Lambo Murci SV
2. Zonda LH760 (Lewis Hamilton's to be precise)
3. Mclaren P1
4. Noble...
I've got about 6 down my engine bay if you wanna take a look? Along with 4 13mm spanners, 1 hammer and a spare wheel
Bloody nightmare fishing dropped parts outta there
