Sorry, didn't mean manufacturer recommended as such.
I used Autofinesse total which is 'safe to use on all car interiors' and is obviously quite a highly recommended company... so yeah god knows what I did wrong but hey, nothing I can do about it now it seems.
I've fucked up my Sparco Wheel trying to clean it, used recommended shampoo and followed online guide but now it's dried it's all rough and tacky. I'm such a knob, pissed off to say the least.
Anyone on here used a steering wheel cover that actually looks decent? Or ideas to sort out the wheel...
Looks good bud, nice starting point! Sits well on the 1.2s.
Do you ever come near Derbyshire? Just a coincidence I read this thread, as I've been scratching my head trying to wire my horn up this morning and getting nowhere!
Nice work mate, looks a lot cleaner than when I saw it!
Never seen those Speedlines before, yours must be the only 1*2 in the country to be running them!
Ah yeah, I'm with you now. Nah, I didn't both painting the lower half. I like the fuel rail cover but can't imagine it making a huge difference to the look if it was removed.
Had this exact problem just the other day as well, about 50mph just a slight hesitation.
My first thought was injectors myself. But hasn't done it since touchwood.
As @imprezaworks advises, will also monitor the situation and let you know if I find a solution (if needs be).
Fair play.
Manifold is just one piece mate. 3 bolts at the front, 2 at the back iirc.
I cheated and just painted the engine mount in situ with a brush- again not the neatest job just got to take your time.
People say normal paint is fine, but I went with VHT just to be on safe side. And I can...
I changed my spark covers and painted my rockers & inlet just the other day. I sprayed the inlet mani, but paint the rocker in situ mate, just with a brush. You can't remove it as it pins the cams in place. I used high temp brake paint. Not the neatest job in the world but looks far better than...
Thanks. Not sure to be honest! Would like to polybush some parts in near future, heard it makes a huge difference.
Also desperate for an exhaust and induction kit.
Yes mate noticed that myself the day after uploading... still great spot, don't know how you noticed that from those photos!
Gave the Cup it's first detail yesterday, I'm no professional (not even an enthusiast if I'm honest) but I think it's come out pretty well.
Photo's don't really do it...
Appreciate your help there matey. Think I'll swap the shocks over first, got a spare set in the garage.
See how we go from there! And yeah never planned to contact Vmaxx, can tell just by there website they don't give a s**t about customer service!
Well that's frustrating, cause that means it's probably not the super-compressed springs that causing my knocking issue? If that's normal for Vmaxx and you didn't have an issue?
Yes it seems that way, I'd give that a go, but unfortunately I haven't got the bottom spring platforms/bushes to seat them on!! Only place I can find them is Kam Racing and they're £25 :confused:
I may have sorted some replacement springs for now, otherwise I'll message ya @leeds2592...
I've narrowed down my awful knocking noise to my cheapo VMaxx spring compressing too much and hitting themselves over bumps.
As you can see just stationary they're far too coiled up?
So going over bumps surely they're gonna make a knocking noise I'm experiencing?
I've tried reseating...
Just thought I'd keep this thread updated with a recent photo.
Got a few annoying issues appearing as expected with french motors...
Firstly an ever-increasing knocking noise/rattle from the rear, had a quick look underneath but no idea what's going wrong.
Secondly it started cutting out on...
I like my exhausts loud, as long as they're not boomy. I had a decat Peugeot Sport exhaust on my old 106 GTi and a decat Remus on my old VXR! Nothing better than a good raspy exhaust note!
Thanks for the kind comments lads.
It's crying out for an exhaust though, I've heard PMS stealth systems are the best way to go for the 172?
I'll be keeping an eye out in the for sale section for one, need a bargain though!!
Finally on the road, took a few quick pics to celebrate.
As always with french cars, there's something to bother you. Got an annoying knock/rattle from the rear n/s corner. Sounds likes something is loose so hopefully an easy fix. But apart from that, this thing is a little rocket...
Got the engine painted up with some VHT paint, not the best job in the world but looks about 1000x better in my opinion!
After an absolute nightmare putting everything back together, including snapping manifold bolts and getting mixed up with HT leads so it started running on 3 cyclinders (or...
