TomoTek - 182 Track Build here we come!...

Hi mate, I can’t remember exactly where the rubber came from, I know I used one of the old hoses I pulled off the car though, maybe a washer jet hose, it’s been that long.. you could just get some rubber tubing from eBay with an ID that matches the Brake line OD cheap enough [emoji1360]

    Track Car Build Looming

It will all depend on where you position the seat.. our seat is as far back as possible for CG purposes.. So I had to move the gear lever back about 20cm

Might need a tyre temp probe on them to see what’s going on if you’ve still got issues.. temps are key to setup

Do you take tyre temp readings when you come in from a stint? That will help massively to figure out your issues.. if it’s the middle of the tyre that’s tearing up you could be over pressuring the tyres.. what pressure do you run?..

    Arctic 182 for Track

Yeah makes sense actually thinking about it, probs a good idea if you can’t cool the calipers enough.. The caliper is a good way to dissipate more heat out the disc though, larger surface area (GT cars have a quite a few fins on their calipers, just paired with some decent ducts)

    Arctic 182 for Track

I thought that’s what you meant, not sure that would really do anything, the Ti plate would get just as hot and than transfer the heat into the piston

    Arctic 182 for Track

Are you thinking to place a piece of titanium between the steel pad back and the piston?

Hi, camber about -3 deg front, -1deg rear. Toe 2mm toe out front 0mm at rear .. changes from circuit to circuit tho, and will be different for every car depending on spec. what dampers do you have? spring rates?.. how is the tyre wearing?, whats your RH? car weight?.. lots of inputs to consider.

Hi, Just removed the inner arches and opened the fog light holes, thats it, no ducting. CL RC6 pads with HC discs. Don't really have any issues with brakes. We'll probably sort some ducting out before next year though so we can control the temps a bit better, blanking off when cold etc.

I managed to get the gearbox fully rebuilt last weekend before heading to Blyton last Monday for a private trackday with some friends (10 cars with the track to ourselves, so a lot of track time!) Here are a few more shots of the gearbox rebuild. Main shaft cleaned up and checked prior to...

The everlasting ph1 ITB Build **GREEN-BUILD STARTS AT PAGE 100**

If your using braided line then I’d say a grommet in the bulkheads would be fine... I used bulkhead fittings as I used solid Aluminium lines connected to braided lines at the ends, so needed the bulkhead to connect either side too ... personal preference really, just make sure there is no chance...

    heatshrinking loom, how?

Where are you getting the connectors from?

    heatshrinking loom, how?

As Mark said, full de pin of the connectors. Just be patient when you do it, it’s fiddly and you don’t want to break the retaining clips in the connectors or you’ll risk wires coming out when driving.

Hi William, as you say the JC5 box has pre loaded bearings. depending on which type of box it is depends on which bearings need pre loading. JC5-129/130 boxes have tapered bearings for both the main shaft and differential. The input shaft has roller bearings which require no preload adjustment...

The trials & tribulations of racing a Clio

I haven’t got anything holding the outer in the middle of the door, just the hole in the door card keeps it in position.. the outer sleeve is attached to the mechanism so doesn’t move.. tbh I could of removed the outer completely and it would have been fine I have seen people do as you say. If...

The trials & tribulations of racing a Clio

Did you manage to sort a door opener out?.. I cut the end of the cable off mine and trimmed some of the outer sleeving back. Then put some red heatshrink over it and looped the end of the cable on itself and fitted a cable lock barrel. I cut a hole in the door card and passed the loop...

@robzracing .. Thanks, it’s changed a lot in the times I’ve been there over the years, bet it’s a drastic change since you first drove there!..
