The plug is in the bin. Sadly no photos.
Maybe should of worded that better. The plug electrode was visibility marked and the plug gap was closed and offset to the centre of the plug if that makes sense.
All plugs in the engine were the proper NGK plugs, not denso (the replacement engine’s...
All plugs were Denso ones. The one in that cylinder wouldn’t tighten and you can see the threads in the head aren’t in good shape it’s been hit that hard.
The air filter seemed to be fairly new, I changed it for a new genuine one when I got the new engine in. Unless the person who changed that...
Hi,
As some of you may know I bought my 182 needing an engine. Now that the car is on the road again we decided to lift the head off the original engine to see if we could find the cause of failure.
Failure is in cylinder 2.
The spark plug threads are not good from the plug being struck (gap...
Ahh I had this. Had to go out and check it my 1.2 daily Clio.
I’ll check in the morning for you but you might have to PM me to remind me!

Ahh. I do get this. Suspension is horribly stiff in them. Were you in the car yourself or with others? I find my FN2 much worse with even one passenger in.

They may do. However non RS certainly won’t. Maybe round the fuel cap but certainly not on the sills etc. In below my daily 2001 1.2 looks better than my 2009 FN2!

I’d need to look at it again. Fairly sure I just removed the cable from the pedal mech and then removed the bolt that the clutch pedal hinges on. There’s a slight gap between the brackets for the clutch and brake and the clutch pedal and mech will with a faff twist and turn to get out the gap...
This doesn’t surprise me and reminds me I need to get my FN2 undersealed.
I seen a jazz the other day with a bit patched into the sill so I’d say hondas of that age are now getting the tin worm badly.
4 years ago my mates mums ej9 civic had a few rust holes in the passengers quarter panel at...
Let me know how you get on.
I disconnected the alarm LED. The plug was in the excess wiring that was taped up. Seems to have no adverse affects on the immobiliser.

Going by the installation instructions for this alarm the LED is listed as optional so disconnecting it shouldn’t be an issue.
Does anyone know if the alarm siren unplugs from its loom? With a view to replacing the siren only, if possible.

I can certainly see how this is the case. It really is not a good oil. Not sure why I expected a different outcome to the BMW. Other than bmw manuals are not a nice box to start with.
I’m running cheap comma mineral 75w90 in my 1.2 and it’s very slick.
I might go for the ELF stuff from my...
Clutch pedal assembly can be removed without removing the entire pedal box. Bit of a faff but I managed it recently when my self adjuster spring had corroded slightly and stuck so it wasn’t grabbing the big toothed wheel above the pedal. This was giving the same symptoms. Pedal to the floor with...
Hi all,
I have Fuchs Titan sintofluid in my 182. I used this oil in a BMW I had a few years ago and I immediately noticed it made the gear change equivalent to changing gear in a dumper, especially when cold.
I’m noticing the same in the Clio, the gear change is nowhere near as slick as my...
Good spot.
For anyone interested there is actually a good noise out of it. All the noise comes from the left tail pipe.
I still haven’t fixed my slight blow yet. Going to remove the centre section and get a new pipe and olive joint welded on.

I then snowfoamed the entire car including below and let it dwell
Behind fuel cap a bit cleaner after snow foaming and brushing. Both arches were cleaned with the brush pressure washer attachment,
I then washed, detarred, deironed with bilt hamber korrosol
l got the car inside and...
Some work done to the RB this week.
Paid a visit to skoda and picked up this, but haven't fitted it yet.
In my previous update I mentioned an occasional misfire at 1800-2k rpm. I ordered some genuine ignition leads and this cured it.
I got these fitted on Friday afternoon and also...
