Scuttle drain blocked - where is outlet?

Hi, My middle scuttle drain is blocked and flooding the drivers carpet and below the drivers seat. Water is not draining from the middle scuttle drain ( the hole below wipers is clear) so I assume the outlet for this is blocked. For the life of me I cannot find it... Can anyone describe where...

    Clutch brand

You just made up my mind. Bought a LUK kit. I put a LUK into a 1.2 clio a couple of years ago and the pedal was nice and light after. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Whats the consensus on valeo clutches now? Are they still destroying gearboxes? Anyone went LUK instead?

    Crank seal leaking

Yea, I seen it mentioned on here that its rare to go so I was surprised to see the oil at the bottom of the flywheel. I'm going to get sump gasket and seal ordered tomorrow. Along with new flywheel bolts and cam seals. Hopefully I should have a dry engine after all this! Regarding fitment of...

    Crank seal leaking

After reading a bit more, the end cap is sealed, the part the bottom half of the seal sits in? This looks like its leaking also?

    Crank seal leaking

Hi, I noticed a leak on my replacement engine which I feared is the crank seal. Sure enough, I whipped off the flywheel and was met with this mess. Going to order a seal and flywheel bolts tomorrow. I've read a few thread on here about changing this seal, but I am confused. In some...

    Timing questions

Hi all, I am going to change the timing belt and dephaser on my replacement engine next week before I get it into the car. Is it required to replace the crank pulley bolt? Seen some people saying they don't? Also where is the timing belt guide on the forum? (I am a paid member) I think there...

Ricks RB182 Project thread - saved from death

It’s too good to break. Apart from the engine which will be sorted, it’s exactly how I wanted one. Totally original. Noticed earlier, it still has the wee piece of foam between the ECU and PAS fluid bottle. Hopefully getting the engine crane tomorrow and starting engine removal proceedings...

Ricks RB182 Project thread - saved from death

I noticed the heater would only blow warm air. After a bit of digging I found a fix on the forum. So today I got a spare afternoon and decided to look into it. Sure enough the toothed wheel was splayed so out the cable ties came. I also pulled back the rubber on my brake and clutch and...

Ricks RB182 Project thread - saved from death

Last night I decided to have a look at my exhaust. It was hanging down and had some corrosion. The back boxes where not in the holes in the rubber of the hangers. I refitted them to these and cleaned the tips using autosol and some wd40 on a scotch pad. Still not perfectly aligned...

Ricks RB182 Project thread - saved from death

Fixed the clutch pedal tonight. The self adjuster was sticky and had stuck slightly open not grabbing the big toothed wheel that pulls the clutch cable. Simple fix. FYI the clutch pedal and mech can be removed without removing the full pedal box. I intend to find out what condition third gear...

Ricks RB182 Project thread - saved from death

Next was onto interior. The water leak seems to gather below the drivers seat. I seen it suggested on here that it could be the centre scuttle drain blocked, which would tie in with the alarm LED on solid. The siren is probably drowned. I started by removing all the loose stuff...

Hi all, I’ve made a purchase of a non runner RB 182. I’m from NI so I’m thinking of different ways to get it home. I’d need the car lifted from Reading and taken to Birkenhead where I would meet the person who lifts the car for me. Do any of you know someone or recommend someone who does...

Renault clio 1998 1.2 8v overheating for no obvious reason?!

Temp does creep up in traffic as mentioned. Thermostats are cheap. Could always replace thermostat and coolant with genuine coolant for peace of mind! I miss my old 8v clio :(

    Where to buy wheels?

Hello. Iv got a 1.2 8v with 17" wheels on it and tbh it is DEAD slow. I put 14" steel wheels on it last night and there was some difference but they are hateful looking so had to come back off. I was wondering what are good websites to buy wheels off? I'd be wanting 15" wheels. Rik
