Hmm I’m going to have to have a look. The led burning all the time will run the battery down. I might end up snipping the wires going to it but don’t want immobiliser problems from it.

Having done this numerous times since I started driving the car the alarm led is still on solid all the time. Even when driving.
When I was fitting my new head unit I don’t remember seeing any odd wiring leeching into either the hazard light switch or the lock button.
Where does the wiring...
The handbrake cable was broken on the new calliper side and before i replaced that the handbrake was holding the car on the other side so I’m assuming the mechanism is still working on that side...

Extremely fussy with that.
I noticed the handbrake is piss poor. But it’s piss poor on both sides. Tight at 4 clicks. Think I need to pump the brakes with the cable slack and then adjust up the adjuster?

Gave the passenger side and the rear carpet the same treatment.
Got the seats fitted again and fitted my clio mats
Fitted a new ebay rear wiper as my original arm was broken.
I fitted a new bonnet seal at the grill also.
That was all on Thursday night. I was off work on Friday so...
Update - Finally on the road
Done a bit of work to the RB this week on the lead up getting it on the road.
I bought myself a Pioneer MVH-300BT from halfords on offer at £55 a few weeks ago so decided to fit this. I was wanting to stay with the standard headunit but I like having USB, bluetooth...
The blow has gotten worse as I can’t stop driving the thing since I got it on the road lol.
The standard exhaust is one piece from the cat back from factory? Given I don’t have a standard mid pipe means it’s been cut to suit the replacement?
So if I get a new replacement what’s the chance my...
I like it!
Mate has one of these in 3 door black. Phase 2 RS Meganes still look very nice. They have aged very gracefully. Possibly one of the best facelifts given to a car IMO.

Ah I see. I noticed the clamp on the parts screen was different to the clamp I have fitted too.
What did you replace it with?

Thanks for the link. I actually looked on eBay and didn’t see that!
How did you know it’s non genuine? I didn’t think it was genuine when I looked at the part on the screen in the dealers.
The rest of my exhaust looks fine its only the welded joints are quite rusty.

Hi all,
I have a bit of a blow where the mid pipe meets the cat.
The top part of the flange has corroded. Rest of the pipe is fine but its blowing here as its not sealing correctly against the cat.
Whats the best solution? Car is still on full standard exhaust which isn't actually in bad...
I know that feeling!
Get some photos taken as you change the engine and add them to your project thread if you have one.
Good time to do the timing belt and dephaser on the replacement engine before it goes in. I used the Renault manual for torques on everything when reassembling and I would...
Ouch. Were you intending on 4th?
I done 3rd to 2nd instead of 4th and bent all 8 exhaust valves in a car I had years ago.

What happened your engine?
Going back in was fine. I had to put it in with the ac compressor off. When we got the engine in and turned, I fitted the compressor and the AUX belt. Much easier to work at when the chassis leg isn’t in the road. I noticed with tensioner slackened full the belt...
New pipe is like £30 from Renault. Unless mine needed talked to nicely I couldn’t push it on. Its very possible I didn’t try hard enough however.

I've just fitted a 172 engine in my 182. I fitted the 172 upper inlet on the RS inlet from the 182 engine.
The pipe from the carbon canister is different as on the 172 the fitting is on the end of a pipe which is on the left of the rocker cover as apposed to being on the rear of the upper...
Before refitting the airbox I fitted a new genuine air filter.
The filter must of been very recently replaced
The inside of the airbox was dirty
Blew this out with the airline
Fitted the new filter
And refitted my wiper arms finally!
Noticed a blow out between the cat and the...
Following on from my previous update, I abandoned the caliper rebuild and bought a new caliper off ebay. It hasn't arrived yet but should be here tomorrow.
I removed the caliper carriers and wire brushed them and set them in the vice
I then painted them hammerite direct to rust silver...
Bit of a smaller update this week as I was occupied with other stuff so didn't get as much time at the RB as I would of liked.
To combat the CV clip problem I thought I would try a stainless steel band, which meant buying a banding tool as well.
I fitted it to the driveshaft
The clip ran...
I couldn’t find a coolant hose that would want to sit in there so this makes sense. I took photos during strip down but I’ve this clip opened and the loom out of it in the photo I have.
Is it the bit of loom with the throttle body connector etc?
