Isle of Man was great. Its a long drive to the port but well worth it.
I left home on Friday morning, 6am and our crossing was at 1.30pm and IIRC we arrived at Douglas at around 5pm (the ferry is much longer than people expect) and we then came home early Sunday morning.
For our group of...
I'll check at the weekend but I do seem to remember my engine being covered in oil on that side.
Interesting, yet worrying!
TBH I got mine from eBay however was a reputable seller, although I do remember mine was old stock, IIRC it was dated 2016. @Scrooge may remember better than me.
Funnily enough I was going to ask the very same thing today but like you could only find expensive options.
I'm also thinking of lowering my steering column some more with longer bolts and a sleeve, but still want to ensure the sleeve is strong enough.
For reference and from my finding a 172 Cup blower will fit into a 182 Cup but not a Full Fat Clio 182.
It was a straight forward swap and should have come from factory like it IMO.
I'll give it another look this week, ever changed a clutch cable @Scrooge or do you fancy changing one!
I haven't really check anything yet. I'll give it a once over one night this week.
Sorry the old picture to show where the leak was coming from, I've since gone EPAS. The liquid metal was a temporary fix to get me from Cadwell Park to home (Essex)! The Valeo item was snapped when it arrived in the post, and due to needing the car for Cadwell I quickly got one from GSF...
TBF the power steering fluid leak was more towards the alternator side but it was all over the engine bay when it let go.
At the connection above, although this pic is taken after I put a load of liquid metal around it.
It was replaced with a standard Valeo item, although now running a...
During my trip to the Isle of Man my Clio developed a clutch slip but only when pulling away from a standing start.
Under load it appears fine.
The clutch does also make a slight noise when the peddle clutch is engaged (like you can hear it spinning against the flywheel) even when the car is...
Was a great trip. You'd love I have a strong feeling you would bump into the police as well! 😂
As said I'm under no impression my Clio was close to the pace of the other vehicles however the GT3 owner was very impressed with it and even stated i 'caught him out' a couple of times...
ISLE OF MAN 16th March '18 - 18th March '18
So I survived a weekend in the Isle of Man, unfortunately due to time etc I didn't get as much GoPro footage as I had hoped but I'll try my best in words and pics.
After a busy week leading up to the trip I was pleased to have my Clio running and...
Not as glad as me! It took far longer than I was expecting however so pleased with the end result.
The clean engine bay is the main reason it took so long, I even cleaned the scuttle panel, no one will ever see it!
I was hoping that would be the case regarding the 172 Cup blower, such an easy...
I was so pleased it was a straight fit tbh as a few people stated they attempted the swap and it didn't work. The only item I had to move was the alarm but TBH I'm sure if I had time I could have made the original bracket work.
I've got copied @Dr Jekyll set up, mainly because its great value...
Mine was plug and play, had to make a new mount for the alarm but apart from that it was easy.
I have heard other people having issues but not sure if thats because mine was a 182 Cup so only AC and not climate control.
A massive help! Definitely owe you a beer! It appears to self align but let me report back after Isle of Man and I'll know for sure then!
I've also ordered a new induction kit, hopefully it all arrives before Thursday...
Thanks.
I was trying to remember your user name to thank you in the...
EPAS Fitted & Working
Up and running!
So after the car being off the road excluding a quick test drive the car is finally back on the road. I finished it this weekend and I must say I've very pleased with the outcome a special thanks to @Stuiemc & @GrahamS for there help. Completing the...
100% genuine. I initially thought this also for the very same reason and spent a very long time comparing my suit to a friend who has the very same suit from Demon Tweeks and everything was the same.
I run a 172 Cup set up like you however a slightly longer belt.
I use this, form Euro Car Parts.
Not my engine but its fits lovely:
I thanks @GrahamS for the belt knowledge.
