Evening All,
As some of you may know I had a nightmare at the weekend attempting to remove the AC stuff from the scuttle, which ended in me smashing my original blower housing.
I'm managed to secure a 172 Cup blower set up but can I make this fit/work on my 182?
My original unit, before it...
It was one of them weekends!
I've sprayed it a few times with WD40 so fingers crossed it will loosen a little. I may give it another go tonight. But I've also been given a few tips about warming up the area which I'll give a go also.
I'm still no convinced the 172 heater will work in my 182...
February 2018 - Broken Again!
After the car was up and running last week, this weekend I set about replacing the steering column to enable me to run EPAS, I wish I hadn't!
However before I started on the column I wanted to remove all the AC junk from the scuttle.
Firstly I have no idea how...
Cheers @Sonic Boom i did have a look last night but there are a few bolts under there!
Don’t suppose you or anyone else has a pic of the bolts/nuts I need to remove.
I made a start removing the AC unit from behind the bulkhead but having issues removing the below:
As you can see I've removed the blower but I need to remove the whole unit to enable me to remove the AC elements but I can't for the life of me find the securing bolts/nuts.
I believe there...
February 2018 - Working Again!
The car has been off the road since 15th October 2017 and I'm please to announce that its up and running again!
A brief summary of items completed since the above date:
Removed HPAS and removed with loop kit. Not currently running any PAS.
Removed AC (although...
As above in hindsight I would have ordered the Samco items, although slightly more expensive but I've heard good reports regarding the MTC (eBay) items.
Mine arrived within 48 hours but this was where the good customer service ended!
I would agree but I liked the idea of silicone hoses to freshen up the engine bay.
I do feel like I'm an odd one out. As I've google the issue and I've not found many issues. Just purchased some new blades so ready to cut tonight.
There are some amazing routes down to Le Mans from Calais, they take longer but so much more interesting. Plus if you go on the Thursday or Friday you'll be in for a treat of some lovely cars. I have my route saved somewhere from when I went last year I'll post it up tonight or tomorrow.
I'm...
TBH I thought the very same. From a business point of view I understand that it's a safer bet making them longer however I believe when your paying for a premium product quality control should eliminate issues like this and it should be a simply OEM replacement. The thing that annoys me most is...
So i received a reply from my email of last night, quick reply IMO however no real joy.
Pic of email below but in short they basically want me to trim the hoses myself, which when paying almost twice the amount "compared" to a "lesser" brand leases a bitter taste, in hindsight I should have...
Yeah I spent a good hour trying to work it out yesterday.
In hindsight I would have got the Samco items but I personally, and maybe incorrectly believed Forge would be just as good. Not sure I can justify changing now.
In brighter news I've got to the bottom of the issue, thanks to @Stuiemc...
