I’ve owned two and a half of those cars.
Fiesta ST. Fantastic car and absolutely the best of the 1.6T small hot hatches and an absolute bargain new.
M140i. My current daily. As much as I love it I kind of wish I was still in my fiesta. I think it’s a bit more fun than the BMW. I hope the...
It’s like there are two types of hot hatches now. The Golf GTI and the Golf R sum it up perfectly.
The clio v6 never was a hot hatch really. More of a mid engine sports / kit car build around a clio body.

Love it. Keeping it a panel van?
I’ve got a cheap t4 recently as my first VW and I can see why folk like them. And the scene has the most variety in my opinion.
On money invested / returned I think 60/70s British classics and VWs both get you your money back for what you put in. Just VWs prob...
That’s true.
I went to see a low mile silver 182 last year it was just under £4k and had turinis and trendlines and about 40k miles.
Went to see it and didn’t even chap the guys door. Was an absolute dog with clear accident damage and bad paint repair.
Low miles is nice if it’s a proper...
I have it mounted off the top of the roll cage so in a similar position to you. It might just be a touch further forward.

Interested in your go pro 7 black setting.
I’ve only used mine a couple of times. Ended up with a good quality pic but the hypersmooth is really annoying when it floats going around corners.

Very nice Dave. Love all the self build camper stuff on Facebook.
I need to be able to take the kids and wife and sleep us all so need the rock and roll bed setup.

I got 230 bhp and 270 ft lb torque with standard exhaust and intake. Just a £300 remap by eco tune in Glasgow. Before and after rolling road printouts etc.
Even with the m140. I still miss the ST a bit. They are really fun cars to drive. The gear change is the best of any car I’ve driven.
Any pictures. On loads of the T4 groups and already got myself side windows, tailgate conversion and a tow bar for much cheapness locally from a guy on Facebook.

There is indeed uproar. But to be honest it’s a mountain out of a molehill. It’s not that you can’t convert a van into a camper. It’s that without the high top etc they won’t change the v5. You can still do the conversion. There aren’t many draw backs. The main one is you can only do 50mph on...
Very nice. I would love a T5 or a T6 even. But I’m just not £30k plus and getting rid of the BMW yet. Might do it a few years down the line if i fall in love with van life.

I need to do some more reading on data logging. I’m particularly interesting in brake and throttle position for reviewing track footage.

I don’t plan on doing this again. But on the advice of many people I seen straight after HANS required for next season.

And now onto the rebuild. With the clio being so clean beforehand. I was pretty determined to rebuild the original shell if I could.
Another RB shell did come up local though. So I have bought that with two things in mind. Best case I could use the wings and bonnet. Worst case I could take all...
And here are the videos. (All runs on YouTube if you are interested).
First let’s start on a positive. My second practice which would have had me towards a second in class for the weekend.
And the in car from the crash.
And the external footage.
Dramatic I think is the word. If...
So quite a big update for this. I’ve been holding off posting this since mid September as I wanted to make sure of the direction I was going with the car before sharing.
14th sept. First time at doune. Arrived the Saturday morning for the final Doune of the year and my first time. I was really...
Probably done in phases
Make it cool.
Make it so it can be slept in (3/4 rock and roll)
Full camper. Going with a side kitchen fridge, hob and sink.
The one thing I haven’t settled on it the style / materials? Just looking at plenty of examples as I go along to get an idea of what to do...
Good points and a well trodden path slamming them to the deck. I’m not looking for that. I might go with painting the standard wheels but it definitely needs to be lower. I’m not talking scraping over speed bumps. Maybe 40mm lower at the back. The fronts are Torsion bar and can be adjusted...
So I’ve been thinking for a while about getting a Campervan. I liked the idea of a T5/6 VW that I could drive everyday but then also use to take the family away (me the wife and two girls) and use for hillclimb and sprint weekends as well (you see where I’m going with this).
Anyway. At £35k+...
