After making the thread I've practiced but its just not practical with the clio pedals and trainers imo. I end up just cocking up my cornering or braking or both.
As to the locking wheels up. I've never done that in any vehicle in ten years of driving so I wouldbt worrg about that!
I don't see why everyone harks on about trail braking when i was barely getting any understeer or oversteer on a soaking wet track! My evening at snetterton was probably the first time I didnt drive all kamikaze and try rallying it lol and it seemed fine.
I think I'll practice but if I can't do it its no big bother really. I hear a lot of top drivers dont even bother. The only benefit to me on the road or trackday is preserve the car.
Southend, Essex.
I guess its a case of practicing. I know its not needed as such and I can already rev match and double clutch but they are a bit slower and scarier when theres a corner coming! Also I think it will help out my overheating clutch on track
If I just can't do it I will consider...
Since @-Jamie- pointed out my downshifts sound painful i've been looking into some of the more advanced bits of driving (im happy with racing lines etc)
What methods do people use to be kind to the car? Do you NEED to be able to heel and toe? Do all racers do it?
I can't heel and toe in the...
I like what the Megane guy xthilox does and uses two gopro's so you have split screen front and rear footage. Considering I "only" have a gopro 2 everyone comments how great the footage looks.
Did make a big difference when I chose standard quality over high quality mpeg 4. Get em up as I love watching track vids. All I seem to do when im bored.
I can't do it safely and consistently in the Clio @-Jamie- best i can manage is rev match unless i modify the pedals i guess.
Ref my bird. Yeah she ain't bad lol. She's touching 30 now but she was prime when I met her at 24 :D
@-Jamie-
im intrigued what you mean by the downshifts as I can't heek n toe so apart from rev matching (which I did at the start but gave up in the end) is there anything else I can do to help the poor overheating clutch?
Can't heel and toe in the clio im afraid! What do you mean though? My clutch was suffering by the end. It squeeks when it gets warm but stops as soon as car has cooled.
I was massively inexperienced and my lines were s**t lol
This one from yesterday is better lol
Me and M3's don't get along
Bare In mind this was my first time at snetterton and first trackday In a long time in the SOAKING wet!
