Can anyone give me a hand with my codes? I have two replacement head units to try in the car, I was told one works, one doesn't but we do t know which is which.
Only on the iPhone at the moment so I can't go through the links. The codes are P585 and O652.
Thanks
Dave

Joe - once the sound proofing is out these cars are loud inside, particularly with an aftermarket exhaust. For any long drives I started using ear defenders as the resonance inside the car was getting a bit much..
My last 172 was fully stripped and I used it as a road legal track car. With the interior, I had a pair of bucket seats, but no cage. Suspension wise, I was using Eibach springs with cup dampers, and 15mm shims at -1.5 on the back, and camber bolts on the front at -1.5. I also used a whiteline...
I've previously used the dynamique 15" wheels for track without problem. I used 195 section tyres, and the local tyre fitter reckons they would have took 205's as well.
My PH1 was at 130K when I sold it on, having done 7 trackdays in it last year including 20 laps of the 'Ring. When I bought that car (with about 120K), I was looking out for good servicing with regular quality oil changes and flush treatments ideally.
My car used next to no oil, and ran/pulled...
That's a great stretch of road, although I haven't driven it in years. I for some reason remember there being a fair bit of speed enforcement on the way into Helmesly near the abbey.
Evo magazine still like going back to the nearby roads from the A170 - Hutton le Hole past Blakey Ridge and upto...
I have exactly the same problem with my Ph1 172, where if you change gear (3rd-4th), it will crunch, but change slowly and it's fine. I've just learned to live with it and slow down this gearchange.
I have just come back from the Nurburgring, and in total I did 20 laps in 2 days. My brake setup is standard discs and lines, fogs and liners removed, on the front I use CL RC6 pads, and EBC yellowstuff on the back, with Motul RBF600 fluid. I did 6 TF laps on Sunday morning, and I did a trackday...
These RC6's seem to bite like nothing else I've tried. At low speed, you have to re-adjust your driving style to avoid learner driver style lurching on the pedal, but otherwise they are superb. I am going to the Nurburgring next month and that was the main reason I decided to give these pads a go.
Fletch, I fitted some RC6's about a month ago, and used some Mintex anti squeal paste that I bought off eBay. It seems to be working as I have hardly had any noise from the pads since fitting. It only cost a few quid, so is well worth a try.
Subjective area this one. I was using EBC yellow and managed about 4 trackdays before they gave up. I have just fitted a set of RC6's, I haven't had them on track yet, but my impression of them on road is that they feel really strong.
I liked the 'feel' of the yellowstuff, they just didn't...
I am looking at fitting Polycarbonate windows on my PH1 track car (3 rear windows), can anyone advise if this is a straight forward DIY job, or should I go to a pro window fitter. The windows will be cut to size rather than me cutting down Lexan sheet.
Fast work so far. I have a similar PH1 project at the moment which I have been working on since the start of the year. Must be alot easier and cheaper when you are doing it with your mates!
NorthloopCup - bit of an old thread to dig up, is there any chance you could post a pic of how you modified/ de skinned your bonnet, I am thinking of having a go at mine and would be interested to see what you did with yours.
Welcome back to the fold... I like many others had a 1*2, sold it, only to return a few years later. I had a 172 Cup about five years ago, sold it and went few various other hatches and alike before getting another Clio. Out of interest how high is the mileage that you talk about? My PH1 is...
Have you cleaned the Idle Control Valve? I was having a similar problem where once my car was warmed up, when at idle the revs would raise of their accord to 2-3K, switching on and off would then clear it. I took my ICV off and cleaned it with carb clean and it has been spot on since.
I appreciate that this topic has been covered on a few occasions, but there seems to be a bit of disagreement re driveshafts....
I have a PH1 with a crunch on fourth gear, so I am now looking at changing the box. If I fit a 172 Cup box for the benefit of lower ratio 5th gear whilst still...
Just ordered a set of 4 from mytyres, so much cheaper than anyware else! I also picked up a set of the Dynamique rims as they seemed the best value to go with. Thanks for all the advice!
Thanks for the advice, I think I will have a punt on a new set of the Federal RSR'S which I will use as a second set of wheels. Is there any downsides if I stick them on Dynamique 15" rims (for trackdays), I have had a look through other wheel related threads and can't see any obvious downsides...
I have just done my first trackday with a PH1 172 that I picked up last year. I have sorted the basics out for a bit of track work, ie brakes, suspension and also fitted Toyo T1R's all round on the standard 15" F1's. I want like to do about 5-6 trackdays this year, and as a cost compromise was...
I remember seeing this on ebay last Autumn, it was defo to much work for me, and I ended up buying a black PH1 172 that was pistonheads shed of the week in mid October. Mine is in the process of getting the suspension sorted with a view of doing quite a few trackdays this year as I only managed...
I have already had a search through the threads but cant seem to find the answer to this......
I currently have a PH1 172 and have been offered a set of coilovers from a 172 Cup. For most coilover sets when new, sets for 172's are sold as different kits depending on whether they are Cup or non...
