Looking at why my engine uses so much oil I have come to the conclusion that it's the seals that have given up.. As there is oil everywhere..
On the piston, in the itbs and also pissing out the breather..
So has anyone given it ago without the head off?
A friend of mine has a tool he uses...
A friend of mine has recently rebuilt his Opel manta using the original body but with a tuned 370z engine and box. Will get some pictures up soon [emoji4]
B14's are going on my ph1 to replace the vmaxx that are on it at present although a road car it will be used on track when the cup is poorly, can't afford 2 sets of Ast :(
Loving the new lid I have just bought a similar stilo item. Still can't believe the box situation hope all gets sorted soon and you get back out on track.
I'm not too clued up on oil coolers it's something I haven't really looked into. But looking at the cooler you have fitted I would 100% put a thermostatic plate on as your engine will never reach operating temps so to speak.. Looking at it its not far off the size of a small intercooler so maybe...
Well I didn't know that! Strange to think that there are 3 different configurations internally but all look the same externally. Would it have anything to do with when they changed the diff. I know my x plate ph1 and my 02 plate have different diff' sad when you remove the passenger shaft the...
@scooby-93 mine took around 3/4 days to turn up. When looking on the tracking info mine wasn't updated for days lol also date was the 4th week of 2015. Just purchased 8 more at £66 :) cheap tyre even if they only last a couple of days
The fan is secured by a handful of 6mm screws. If you got a good selection of tools available you can leave the box in place and remove the fan unit if not you'll have to remove the blower unit completely which is 5-6 10 or 13 mm bolts located in the scuttle and drivers footwell.
Where are you...
Don't know why I've come in this thread as it is bringing a tear to my eye :'(
As @Knuckles has mentioned it is my old car :( hope you enjoy it mate and look after the old girl.
Are you looking at using it as a daily just as I did hence the mileage :( hope it brings you plenty of trouble free...
Ph1 172 with mini scoop on bonnet turning into morrisions minehead did flash the hazards although I was in a white freeland in front of you. Also ph1 v6 silver with aftermarket exhaust and private plate on porlock hill.
Just passed a black 172 spectating on the Somerset stages too.
Had this issue with a ph1 I purchased a couple of weeks ago.
Cost me 6.00 for a new sensor and problem solved just make sure you get the correct pressure as some have different pressure ratings.
90miles a day and it cost you £120 per month! Now I know your lying [emoji16] @ Knuckles
Shame really as the raider is going to a new home today at a bargain price not much more than the 1 your looking at [emoji24]
Sorry I can't help but it doesn't help renault fitted the door handles nexts to the hinges totally pointless I've had the handle come off in my hand before now too.. Hope you get this fixed not to sure if the hinges are bolted on so could be tricky [emoji53]
It's a weird one. It only seems to stick when it's rev'd over 3500 but when I cut the engine and start it back up again all is fine. Strange! Yeah I'm not to keen on it either may have to look at customising the linkage.
Hi all as above before I start ripping things apart has anyone running at power itbs had issues with there throttle sticking open. We have had a few issues today with them randomly sticking [emoji53] when I can get to the car again il take a closer look and get some pictures/videos of the linkage.
With regards to the driveshaft nuts I made the mistake of not removing them when stripping the car as I was in a rush to get it in for its cage. It was only last week I removed them and it was easy really.
Drill the nut in the 4 areas where there is no castellation and drive a punch down the...
I've search but have had no joy :( does anyone know the part numbers to 172 cup shafts.. After getting a quote of 250 each from Adam I'm determined to get them cheaper.
I've been in contact with gkn driveline/lobro who manufacture the shafts for renault but I need to know renault numbers in...
I had this issue when I first bought my 172 it wasn't until the paperwork come through that I realised. Good thing is they kept the price quoted as it was there mistake when listening to the telephone conversation.
