Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Don't know what it is about starter motors..... The only time I've had one fail is when refitting the engine and it's happened twice :(
Good work mate look forward to seeing it round track this year!
Toe out on the rear will induce more oversteer but I prefer to get the balance with the damping adjustment and spring rate as toe out on the rear in the wet makes for some very lively action!
I don't really know the type of surfaces that you drive on Ian but a good starting point on track is around 3 degs negative camber with 5-10 min's toe out per side at the front. 2 deg's negative camber on the rear with neutral to 10 mins toe in per side. Obviously ride heights and cornerweight...
Alot of trackday companies will allow underage drivers on track with no road licence but they must hold a racing licence although I'm sure you have to be 14 to get one.
Also if you private hire a circuit for the day or few hours I can't see they will be bothered what age he is.
I was going to say a tad low lol! Highest I've seen mine is 76 degree's, I'm sure Dunlop told me the optimum is around 90 in use so obviously by the time you come in and measure them it will be cooler.
Don’t know really the only races i’d want to do on the calendar would be Snett and maybe Oulton but the Tintops calendar suits my circuit choices quite a bit better this year and would be good to share costs with a second driver. I’ll still be along to watch you guys though at a few races i’m...
Best of luck Tony hope it all goes well and glad you have got it all ready! Looked through the calendar of FT races today will try and come along to one
Sorry mate must of forgotten to reply :(
Hopefully sometime in the next few weeks just going to wait till we see some nice weather forecasted and then will book :) Can't wait to drive it again!
Yes I'm sure it won't be too long before it's next trip :) going to play around with a few bits on...
Tyler do you guys offer wrapping? Got a car that needs doing based in Essex let me know if your interested in doing it :) thanks
Cracking work on the rest of it! Looking good
Haha doh! What do you mean by connectors? My idea of connectors...
Or do you mean like crimp bullet connectors? If the latter then Polevolt is fine for them :)
Sorry I typed the wrong one in. Lots of different ones available but http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3Meter-DC-12V-24V-to-5V-3A-Right-Angled-90-Degree-Mini-USB-Power-Converter-Cable-/130978719862?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Test_Measurement_Equipment_ET&hash=item1e7ef0a876 thats the correct plug now I think...
Get rid of all that lot IMO Pete and just buy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SN9F-Car-Charger-DC-Converter-Module-12V-To-5V-3A-15W-with-Micro-USB-Cable-/131124065198 and then hardwire in :)
The mirrors are great! I use mine for all round visibility not just the rear window can see out of the rear...
Yes had lots of laughs over the years with him and learnt a lot on the way too :)
Yes I wouldn’t say it otherwise buddy ;)
Diff is a good shout and so are swapping to dunlops, try that along with a bucket seat (you only need one as you say passengers slow you down :)) and decent wheel. Roll...
If you are doing auto solos you probably don’t want to go any stiffer than that but for your reference my front spring rates are higher than 600lb but solely circuit use for me.
Personally I would start by taking current ride height measurement and see how low it actually is, if low then try...
Brake wise i’d make sure you are getting some cool air to the inside of the discs and then I would be tempted to go with new Brembo HC discs and a set of EBC Blue pads (Tony uses them to great affect on the std callipers)
What spring rates have you got on the AST’s? Easy way to reduce lap time...
