Mine did this a few years back, I managed to limp home ( about 2 miles) I then had it towed to Rentech. I wouldn't drive it for 2hrs, as it could snap at anytime and then take out cambelt etc.
I run my 172 on Fuchs Titan race pro S oil, but the standard Renault stuff is fine.
Brakes will be fine mate, ATM I am running Brembo HC discs/ RC6 pads with ATE superblue, good set up IMO.
As Dave says though you cannot buy ate superblue anymore, it only comes in gold now (same stuff though)
Just looking at going back to 4 pots on my 172, and have a couple of questions.
Has anyone fitted 2118 wheels over Brembo 4 pots? and if so how much did you have to machine off the calipers, and secondly do you need to run spacers to get the required space between wheel and caliper.
