Ah man that looks excellent! When I used to settle insurance claims Jersey an almost impossible to market to value because cars were such low mileage!
Excellent purchase, I really like that.
Got the car back from Alex last week and it's back to it's former glory making ridiculous choo choo noises!
He did a load of work for me, including:
replacing the n/s ABS ring which was causing the ABS light to come on and ABS to behave strangely
have the box input seal replaced
send off the...
All 4 of my tyres got bitten by fox cubs when using megs tyre gel recently so I won't be using that again! I also lost a brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sport to the same fate after applying the dressing previously.
I recently rebuilt my engine and turbo converted my car and those two aspects of the build cost me about £5k so be prepared for it to be an expensive job. Before you commit to doing an engine rebuild I would have your existing one checked for compression as at that kind of mileage it can be a...
@frayz I didn't read all the posts before putting mine but you are spot on. Particularly with oil and intercooler the airflow getting to certain parts of the rad has significantly reduced velocity. That was, apart from packaging benefits, the main reason we mounted our oil coolers so close to...
Eletrox is a sacrificial zinc coating so I would have thought Deox is best if you then want to use Electox over the top. You can then paint direct over this if you want to. Bilthamber have excellent product support and will recommend you the products for the job in hand if you drop them an...
Lol just seen this. At the ripe age of 28 I have aged at least 20 years in the last 12 months and was a mental age of about 40 before that 😂 @Martin. will confirm.
The rad is pretty but I think that's probably about it. The core doesn't look overly efficient when you compare it to highly...
Update list cabasse auditorium is a great radio. You can change the faceplate on them if you need to. I've done that in the past to get rid of the textured plastic and have nonsport smoothness. The same change may well help you find a laguna one and swap out the front.
Update list has the...
Yeah the ABS solenoids should pulse but you also need to depress the pedal up and down a few times during the procedure to push the air out of the ABS.
Well you raise a good point there I probably should consider something different but the rear is so unbelievably light that the back almost does nothing, even more so when the weight is transferred to the front. I think on a more balance car like a saloon it would make a lot of difference. I...
Haven't read any of the comments but
DS2500, you're right, they're woeful.
Had CL RC5+ on a road car and they're brilliant but the dust is pretty bad
RC6 in Marts car are incredible and will be my next pad for the cup, unless RC8 prices drop a bit. Squeal a lot on the road and quite embarrassing...
I didn't end up spraying in inside and ended up using hammerite but I have recently done the engine bay using 2k. I would never do it again without a proper airfed mask. The stuff is very nasty so if you decide to do this make sure you have the proper equipment to protect yourself.
2k engine...
drill out your old captive nuts and put in new zinc coated m6 rivnuts. They tend to let go after a while and it's a real pain when the bolt just spins the rivnut round.
I don't run spigots when using studs because the taper on the nut centres the wheel. Technically you don't need them, it just makes locating easier when using normal bolts.
Indeed you do, can't beat the genuine diagnostic package for things like this. Any laptop with the ability to run a 32bit OS will be OK so XP > Windows 7 is good. I have an ancient laptop specifically for this. Super slow and the battery doesn't work but I only use it for car diagnostics so I...
I know you'll think it's madness but I highly recommend getting one of these
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/V178-CAN-Clip-For-Renault-Latest-Renault-Diagnostic-Tool-Vehicle-Diagnostic-Tool/193107567172?hash=item2cf61ba244:g:mPIAAOSwH2ldOWVO
The diagnostic ability it will give you is superior to a...
Mileage is definitely stored in the clocks on the Clio. Have changed a few in the dcis I've owned for the upgraded sets which display cruise control and the mileage on the car changed as a result.
You'd want to do what I did on these clocks and desolder the bulbs which have been removed...
yep exactly my thought too but very easy fix probably.
I would do what Kyle suggests, change over the clocks and see what comes up. It looks like the ABS fuse may have been removed and hense no faults on the generic code reader because it doesn't detect a module to probe for faults.
The ABS...
Looks like the lights have been removed from the cluster as the service light, ESP and abs light would show up when you turn it on.
They’re easy to solder back in. I did some last year in only a few hours. Then connect it to CLIP and see what faults remain. ABS faults are usually quite easy to...
