172 cup cranks for 3 seconds, wouldn't start, red immo light staying on

Flashing is the chip not being recognised, usually a key fault. Solid light is typically the gearbox earth or the three smaller relays in the engine bag fusebox, the one which controls the immobiliser will have failed. Swap them round as first port of call.

You can’t CLIP out an abs sensor so something is amiss.

    Anyone had Bimarco Bucket seats?

I have futuras in my car and they're very good. Can't fault them for the price and a much better alternative to rubbish steel framed seats like the sparco sprint

    172 Cup with 50k

I die inside when I see harnesses put in like that. Significantly more dangerous than the factory seat belt.

    Engine rebuild

I recently built my engine and the costs were a follows. It isn't a cheap business if you do it properly and often there is little point in doing half a job as it will cost more in the long run. Mine was built for turbo but realistically the only difference between turbo and non-turbo is the...

    Trying to save a £300 172 cup

Massive progress already Dan, nice work! Look at all those leaves in the skuttle, nice bit of leaf mulch there.

Renault clio 1.5 dci 2002 84636 miles strange noise wile driving

That sounds like it could be the free wheeling hub on the alternator. They're quite common for failing and just spinning on the alternator.

Adjusting height on AST sportline 1/4100

This is actually based on Martins 182 which I have transfer to mine but yeah that was with him in I believe @Martin. to confirm. The springs are 5" with a spacer which would make a difference (I think). Mart will know the specifics much better than me :)

Adjusting height on AST sportline 1/4100

On my ASTs for a near 50% cross weight the measurements from the bottom of the thread to the bottom of the collar are as follows Front: 52mm each side Rears 119mm left, 169mm right

    Graham's OCD ph3 DCi sport rep v2

They have different faces on! I remember having my first Scottish note and being amazed by it! Ah yes me neither but I'd been browsing for a potential replacement with the idea of it being a few years down the road. Unfortunately after a morning browse in bed a nice e91 325d estate popped up...

    Graham's OCD ph3 DCi sport rep v2

Going to it's new home soon. Kept in the family which is good. Will be removing the Turinis and cup spoiler before it goes and having the cambelt leak seen to. A shame but to be replaced with many luxuries for a quickly aging Graham.

@Iain C are you in there. If not I've probably offended you haha

    (Another) Steering wheel question.

Merci merci! Use a 5mm thick washer as the original 2mm I had started to buckle under the torque of the steering wheel bolt. no issues with a thicker washer.

    Graham's OCD ph3 DCi sport rep v2

I put this on the facebook group and got some hilarious comments from your typical pikey clio owner along the lines of "what's the point", "just get a sport", idiots. Anyway I'm thinking of selling up gents. Would be interested to know what people think the red shed is worth. It's clearly worth...

Graham's summer 172 cup track car

It does seem to do that quite easily now! Brakes get cooked constantly slowing down from a higher speed. I just had cams before. Marts had ITBs. The power delivery is totally different. You get a massive hit from about 2500. With the GT2560R you still get quite a linear torque curve which is...

Does your epas setup do this??

All of the ECUs and columns are the same as far as I know with colouring not representing anything specific. Are you using a looped or DCI rack? I have come across this on a looped rack before where the fluid hasn't been drained properly and it was being force through the valve. If you leave...

Lemforder balljoints at ECP - £12 the pair (1*2)

Sorry Darren I didn't write the above as a moan, no key board worrier here! I am often pretty astounded when I see garages say "we only fit genuine parts", shows a level of naivety in my eyes. Pattern parts could indeed be poorer quality but wouldn't be OEM as they aren't made by the OEM...

Lemforder balljoints at ECP - £12 the pair (1*2)

When people ask about whether they're any good they should know that a vast number of manufacturer parts are not made by the manufacturer and that there are some simply mammoth OEM suppliers which some people won't have even heard of. Realistically, when you buy genuine, you nearly always buy...

    Removing Airbag ECU

The airbag ecu doesn't control the immobilisers so you probably cut a can line. The wire hub for the can network is in the section which goes down to the airbag ECU.

Urgently need 3 monitor graphics card

😂 yep, I bought it like that and it works a charm! One week into this and it’s all working very nicely. No back ache from the monitors being at the wrong level.

Unimpressed by 182, what do you love about it?

Good chassis, mentally cheap to work on, best car forum going, huge following, loads of affordable aftermarket parts. If you want a road car the 182 is very very well specified for a car of that age and is a very nice place to be. Change all that and it can be a very raw track car. You can...

Urgently need 3 monitor graphics card

That's part because of the monitor arm, although I can adjust it out, I think (middle and right on same arm). But at work I have my phone under there so I'm weirdly used to have that one a bit higher!

Urgently need 3 monitor graphics card

Nearly set up now, waiting on a display port cable for the last monitor. Frustratingly the monitors only came with HDMIs. For now two will do. Quite a large set up. The monitors massively overflow my desk but who cares, this is now like the workstation I'm used with everything at the right...

    Graham's OCD ph3 DCi sport rep v2

It appears my last update would also be the last time I washed the red shed. A couple of months ago a rare flame red cup spoiler came up on here so I snapped it up and now it lives on the back of this turd. It finishes it off very nicely and the dci really wants for nothing more...

    172 Cup Turbo Conversion

@incy-spider is bang on here. A lot of people are pretty uninformed about turbos. They're awesome and can be reliable if built properly. Half the people who build them do them on a pants car to start with so everything breaks. It's pretty obvious things like the clutch might need changing. In...
