Martin's Track Clio 182 Project Thread

Haha. Maybe at some point, but at this point in time I have no plans to touch it before I've got some proper use out of it.

Martin's Track Clio 182 Project Thread

I collected the car this weekend from AWMotorworks. Alex spent some time sorting the following bits for me: - Replaced the Slide Motorsport copper turbo gaskets with genuine Nissan items and new locking nuts. - Re-sealed the turbo oil drain, as there was a slight oil weep. - Modified the...

Martin's Track Clio 182 Project Thread

On the 29th Feb we went to Snetterton for a pre Nurburgring test day, and shake down for Grahams cup. It was raining all morning, but we had warm blue sky in the afternoon so it was good to fully test the cars. As some of you may know, Grahams cup blew out its copper turbo gasket so those were...

Yeah I do, it's just perfectly hidden behind the caliper there. You can just about see the top of it in red behind my nimbus deflector plates.

The car also got a proper clean with help from my mate Sam, first of the year I think. I changed a few bolts for shiny items too.

Martin's Track Clio 182 Project Thread

Back in February I did also actually get the car over to @Mash. at Select Motorsport to have some work done on the sills. They were pretty crushed but are now reinforced and properly protected. I can also confirm the drain holes work perfectly again so hopefully no inner rot which seems to...

Martin's Track Clio 182 Project Thread

Spring 2020 Update After our HUGE rush to get Grahams car done over Winter and both fully prepped for a closed Nürburgring track day in April, this global crisis started to explode out of control, and we had to cancel the trip. Part of the track day prep on my car included checking the...

Just rip it out and put a clean bit of Nimbus heat shield there. It's what most do and for good reason.

    182 turbo info

Yeah Renault headgasket We thought that being so thick the Slide Motorsport copper gaskets would be perfect. But Grahams blew to bits after one trackday, and mine is looking worse for wear after two trackdays, all though it's still working. Both are being changed for genuine nissan ones now...

    182 turbo info

Yeah as said, to find decent ones which are built properly will be hard. Most are cheap builds from what I've seen. To do it properly, using the best parts possible as well as refreshing or upgrading everything needed isn't cheap. For a road car it's less of a problem but for a track car it...

Adjusting height on AST sportline 1/4100

I'm a bit lost, what do you actually want to do? You want the car to sit as high as possible?

    Clio 182 direnza Radiator

Graham and I both have them on our turbo cars. Haven't got any comparisons though I'm afraid. One thing I did notice on both of ours and others, is that the fan shrouding sits too far away from the back of the rad, and not flush like I would have thought. That possibly allows the fan to pull...

Is it a Clio or a DTM car? help me find a quieter exhaust.

Plenty of quiet systems out there, Scorpion & Miltek to name two. Fitted with a centre section (resonator) and a cat it will be perfectly fine and likely barely louder than normal.

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

May be the odd one out here but the whole auto solo thing does not interest me in the slightest. Tried to watch the video but found the event footage pretty boring too. (i do watch all your vids btw) For me trackdays are about being on or near the limit and feeling how the car copes and...
