    Clio with Rotrex super charger

Turbo for me. Get a boost solenoid too and the power delivery can be mapped a lot more progressive - less torque slap down low and more power top end. There is still a huge surge of torque over N/A though so there's no denying it's a turbo when driving it. Epic to drive! My friend and I both...

Track day decibels help. Miltek non res cat back - 182

Just how I like it :) Was 88/89DB at Bedford a few months back. Decat and non-res but also turbo now. Took my sports cat with me thinking it would be louder now days with a turbo and non-res. But to my shock it was actually quieter!

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Yeah I had to do that :( but then got the car corner weighted and it actually sits higher at the front than it did before so porbably should have done that first!

Very jealous of those tyres. They were my favourite, I went through two sets until you couldn't buy them anymore :( For reference I have a 5mm spacer on my front wheels which are ET35.

Thanks again for the kind words Mark. Must have taken you bloody ages to get through all 19 pages!!! Believe me I've had my doubts over it all a few times. When the cambelt was due and the engine was down on compression it was nearly the end. But thankfully Graham convinced me with the...

Graham's summer 172 cup track car

Engine looks insane in those pics. Especially of the cambelt side with the desk in the background. Cleaner that mine now!

I was never that bothered to be honest. Graham wanted to do his one black. Maybe if mine ever comes off I'll think about it again, but i'm done with touching the car for now haha.

Isn't that just to suit the demand though.. When we looked into it for clarification this is the common result we found:

That did cross our minds. But coating it with black paint would theoretically make it less efficient. Whether or not it would be noticeable is another queston.

    Always use Type D Coolant...!

If no yellow metals in the Clios then no reason why red OAT would ever be an issue then. Unless you're mixing it with type D without doing a flush maybe.

    Always use Type D Coolant...!

Always had halfords red OAT in mine. Never had any issues and no build up of scum.

Would you buy this track prep 192?

I agree, the amount of 'track spec' cars I've come across which are absolute dogs. You need to be prepared to properly sort it yourself If you buy someone elses cheap car. Unless you don't actually care about bodges obviously. Cheap for a reason.

    Lightweight track car

If you're going to strip it all out anyway, then either get a cheap car and sort it yourself how you want it, or buy the best mechanically maintained car and get stripping the insides. It won't make any real difference to the end result whether you get a 172 cup, a normal 172 or a 182...

Martin's Track Clio 182 Project Thread

Thanks mate. It took us a lot of time and effort. Having the extra punch really does help it around a lap. I mean a well setup 1*2 is not slouch around a track anyway, but the extra ponies let you fly past bigger powered stuff without much issue. It is, speak to Alex. He just did one for...

    PMS Rattle / Vibration Damper

Excellent thanks very much. Am very happy to source some online if needed. Do you have a rough idea of how much is needed per car?

    PMS Rattle / Vibration Damper

If there is enough going spare I would love to buy some of the shot too please? I guess you don't need that much as the linkage pipe is pretty narrow? If there's not enough spare then if you could tell me roughly how much I'll need, I can buy it online... Seems to come in KG bags and be...

Track cars - ideas for interior security covers ?

Oh yes I see what you mean now. Given me some ideas of what to search for if anything. Something like that on some kind of support behind the seats and pull through to the boot would be perfect. with slits in for the cage legs.

Track cars - ideas for interior security covers ?

Stripped out car. Rear cage no seats etc. Been trying to think about cool ideas to cover up stuff carried in the back so it's out of sight. Less likely to be broken into then when the car is left over night or parked. For example. Hoping to do a few proper road trips in the car, carrying...
