Yours is in a perfect state now to just use and enjoy it. Have a re think when your belts are due next. But for anything more than cams you have to be prepared to sink thousands and thousands into to do it properly.
Thanks chap. Nice to know someone reads the updates haha.
Yeah as these cars get older, it does become harder to get parts. You may be better with second hand items from a breakers yard or other forum members!
We have a very limited amount of time around work and household jobs but we do...
Ethernet for sure. I hate to rely on wireless.
Also consider virgin cables, or BT cables from the junction box at the front of your house to where the TV etc might be. I put in virgin cables, ethernet cables and BT cables through all my walls in the lounge with nice sockets ready to plug...
If the PAS reservour is over the maximum line then there's a chance it's a leak from there when hot. Have you tried removing a little bit of the fluid to get it down below the max marker? If not that would be a good place to start. Then clean the whole area up and monitor it closely everytime...
Bedford GT - 14th December 2019
Graham and I booked this trackday to give the car a shakedown and iron out any teething issues. Thankfully there was nothing to note and the car ran faultlessly all day long! Including the journey there and back. It is very refreshing to just start your car...
You can't compare A048s to AD08Rs though. One is a track focused semi slick, the other is a fast road tyre.
I have AD08Rs on one set of wheel at the moment. Fine for a summer road tyre, but pretty poor on a dry track in my opinion.
Maybe you've tried a dodgy column.
I've driven which felt lifeless and vague
Very happy with my currrent set up. Feels as good as I remember it with PAS. Plus I now have the option to adjust it when needed.
I've got a template somewhere as I was going to look into getting them reproduced for other R owners. Finding the material was the hard part.
Do you have me on insta? I can send you some direct pics on there if so...
Why would you go through all that effort for a PAS temp reading?
Just tin it off and get EPAS. No hassle, no leaks, no worry of it taking out your engine.
I've got some lovely ones in my R, made from the original seat material too :p
I got them off eBay, but unfortunately I think they company stopped making them for some reason. My friend was looking a while back and we couldn't find the seller anywhere!
The ones in the Clio are just cheap...
I recently ordered some zinc spray and a tub of underseal paste from BH. Proper good stuff, easy to apply and easy to build up the layers to your desired thickness.
Does anyone know the size of the O-ring on the map sensor?
Mine has split and I'd like to get one ordered today if I can. (I forgot to measure mine)
Thankings
Sounds ok to me too. Assuming it is in as good condition as is made out.
If the seller an enhusiast? Or forum member? We might be able to vouch for them if they are and we know the name etc.
My friend is selling a lovely Racing Blue 182 for a couple of grand, just ticked over 100k miles...
Sounds good. Product quality has always been a huge concern for me. Last thing anyone wants is to go through all the effort for the fittings to then leak etc.
There will be a lot of interest in this stuff. Just been through the nightmare of it all when turbo converting my 182. The amount of fittings you need is impressive!
Turbo oil feed lines and fittings from the pressure switch
Oil cooler fittings and lines
Oil temp sensor fittings and lines...
Do you mean you've just bought a 182? Or you've just bought a decat for your 182?
Or you've just bought a 182 which happens to have a decat? (if so calling it a 182 decat is like calling it a 182 recaro.... :p)
Welcome though, they are great little cars!
