Aye could always head down and we can all meet up for some photos or whatever at Glenshee. I know theres been a couple of guys replied in here from Aberdeen way so if there's a couple of you coming then at least that means it won't be a drive down yourself.
Haha no worries mate. I know the...
Indeed! Might as well throw myself in the deep end...
In all seriousness though there could be a good chance I cancel the track night depending on how it runs over the weekend. I'll have it out and about tomorrow though just to hopefully find any little issues sooner rather than later, because...
Been a long two days but I've made it! Car is ready to go for it's MOT tomorrow.
Wednesday night was spent getting the original mounting point welded back into the car to fit my subframes onto. Only had a gasless MIG welder available but it's still turned out OK. Didn't run a weld the full way...
Weather reports are looking a bit mixed for Saturday but hopefully it's dry or showery at worst!
Who's all coming along then? @Dannyeff @Martin_172 @JR0088 @scotiamr2t @tommy17286 @16v-clio @Fraser.J. @Dan.G @Paprika123 @JCC @rctempire @Stu. @Danny_172
Feel free to tag others who'd be game too!
Well... not updated this in a wee while now. It's all just little jobs here and there to do now and it seems to be taking a f**king age! I got fed up with it the other week though and not much has really been done. After seeing a few mates getting their winter projects back on the road though...
Should've updated this before now but not had much time. Looked into a rough route for heading up to Glenshee and came up with this:
Basically start at the services, head up the M9 and cut off at the first opportunity, keeping to the back roads heading up through Crieff, towards Perth and...
Scotland will be going a little drive out through the Cairngorms for this. Up through the Spittal of Glenshee which is probably one of the best scenic routes in Scotland. The route will hopefully accommodate those living in the further afield regions of Scotland so do come along and meet up with...
Now taking payments for spaces on the clubstand.
There are 40 spaces available and it's on a 1st come 1st served basis between both csoc and cliosport.net so get in quick to secure your space
Drivers - £10
Passengers -
Early Bird Offer until 1st April - £10
2nd April to 30th June - £15...
Can't remember exactly what I paid, @NorthloopCup can supply them for around £250 iirc though. I was slightly less as I got a group buy price (not on here).
Mine started out as a budget track car too. That went out the window fairly quickly 😂
Are the ph1 sensors not just the same as non ESP ph2 ones?
No idea what to do about new ones, but if you're stuck for a used one you're welcome to come grab the ones off my ph1 mate. Not running ABS this year so won't be needing them.
Don't lighten the standard flywheel. There's not enough material on them to safely machine them down and it tends to end badly.
A lightweight flywheel is an option though. Just fitted one to mine while the engine was out. It certainly revs quicker, but I've not driven it to see how it feels...
Now that's commitment! Lol, hope you can make it mate. Your LY is epic and would be awesome to have it on the stand!
Sorry Marc, we've only managed to secure one large outside stand.
If probably wouldn't make too much of a difference once they were tightened. I'd strongly advise against using those mounts where the reel bolts to though. If that part of the car crumbles in a crash there's a chance it's going to pull the harness and will just crush you in your seat.
45...
WE HAVE PROGRESS! Lol!
Stand is sorted now, but it's just one massive outdoor one. No indoor stand unfortunately due to the organisers being a tad useless! It's been booked for 40 cars, and between here and CSOC we have it pretty much filled by the looks of it.
For now, we're needing a rough...
Has it noticeably stiffened up the rear a decent amount? I toyed with buying all the parts when I seen your post in your project thread but never got round to it. I'm hoping it makes enough of a difference that I don't have to go as stiff with my rear springs when buying new coilovers...
Yeah but they aren't at the top, so require kneeling down, and I'm lazy 😂
Excellent mate, I'll have to see what I can afford this month but will probably be in touch soon then!
Going to look out a proper route for this over the next couple of days.
Ill post up a route map when I've got something. Open to suggestions from everyone though. If you've got any ideas feel free to share!
Got a reply back from Kam racing this morning. Apparently BC will revalve the dampers to suit any custom spring rates.
They pretty much said they'd recommend GAZ Golds over BC's for a dedicated track car though as they can provide custom springs all round for those since they've got the rear...
Gold willys?
Cheers. I went straight for the expensive option and decided I wanted it all painted flame red when I first got it lol! All depends on cost really. Vinyl is a nice cheap alternative and could still look good.
That's a couple months down the line yet though. Going to get a few...
LOL, I've emailed them to see if the custom spring rates includes the dampers being matched too. If it does I can see myself buying them. Not got a f**king clue what to go for with spring rates though!
Looks like my idea of waiting a few months to buy new coilovers might be out the window. Kam racing are currently offering 10% off all BC coilover kits with free delivery and custom spring rates. Payday today as well ffs. So tempting!
Forgot I done some work last night. Fitted the radiator, got coolant into it and got the other driveshaft on so it actually moves now. Got some photos too!
Heater matrix in place. Need to relocate some wiring to make the dash fit again
Temporary drivers seat...
Radiator etc all in place...
😂😂 I'd have worked it out eventually...you just sped up the process! Can't believe I never thought of that first when it never started tbh.
Aye be interesting to see how different it is now it's basically a new car. Gonna book up the evening on the 4th April for it's...
Somewhere between you and Dave lol. About 5'10".
I'm thinking of trying to make something work with the sliders I have for my seats. If I can get them to fit, even with making up some sort of adaptor plates it'll hopefully bring me in close enough to reach the pedals!
If not though I'll...
Needs finished for the end of the month lol, no time to waste! Couple of things left to do yet but hopefully I'll have it driving next weekend.
Only big issue just now is the fact the original seat mounting points have been removed and the ones in place are designed for cup racer side mounts...
Been a productive day! Got the heater matrix all transferred over and connected up, sorted out some wiring in the car, fitted everything under the scuttle panel like the wiper linkage and blower motor etc and sorted out my heated screen wiring so that just needs a few final connections on it...
