Yeah I think they're pretty relaxed with it. Although I do remember the guy that lives there telling us to be quiet after 11pm last year so people in the neighbouring houses wouldn't complain LOL. Nearest sign of civilisation was about 3 miles away! 😂
Edit: just checked... 105dB...
This. I don't remember them doing any noise testing either. There was a mic sitting up at the side as you come out the pits but that's all I saw.
There was also a 350Z turned up for the track day the next day and was almost painfully loud when accelerating away from you but that seemed to be...
Lol! I was close to telling the guy to forget it and heading home but got them in the end! Cheers mate.
Thanks mate! They appear to be pretty hard to come by so I snapped them up right away. Also not seen many Clio's with them on. Couldn't find a single photo on here or google images...
Well, thanks to @NorthloopCup I have myself a refurbished gearbox back in my hands! Was heading down Manchester way with my mate yesterday so figured I'd go the extra hour South to collect the box rather than pay to get it couriered back up to me. Also ended up buying a set of track wheels on my...
This has just reminded me, I have a JC5-120 box I sort of acquired when trying to fix my diff last year lol. I've got absolutely no idea what it comes out of, but would it be any use to you for spares? If so I can bring it with me Sunday, otherwise it'll probably get scrapped!
It'd stay if there was one already there. My problem was being lazy and not transferring it over was easier LOL. It'll be done though, cba being cold and damp in the car.
Flol, a tear of happiness? [emoji23]
Another few bits picked up tonight!
Extended shifter and a cup alternator setup. Gearbox is getting picked up Sunday too so that's everything ready to swap the engine. Just need to get the new bay painted before I do anything!
Nice one mate, would be great to have you come along and hopefully some of the other members too that miss out on the usual central belt meets due to being further north.
I'll need to have a study on maps and see what routes would suit after Glenshee. That's not a bad call though!
Also, if someone coming along is handy with a camera and fancies volunteering to take some half decent pics of this then please let me know! Would be good to get some proper photos of this instead of loads taken on phones etc.
A new coolant bottle and either polishing that inlet pipe or painting it black would finish that right off. Looks good other than that now I can see it properly on the PC!
Well, CS Areas Day is back for 2016, and what better way to kick the year off than with a drive up to Glenshee! Being into April I'd hope the snow would've cleared and any track cars among us should be prepped and ready to go!
Route is yet to be finalised, but would be an early morning start at...
I believe it's set stand sizes inside and just as many cars as you can/want to fit on. They don't stipulate numbers for them. We're thinking 10-15 indoors though, any more would be cramped, and the rest outdoors.
Still waiting to hear back from the organisers though.
We're anticipating more cars than is allowable on the indoor stand so we'll be having the best of the bunch in there and the rest outside. Still waiting to hear back from the organisers though unfortunately
Well this has died off a bit... If we can't get the numbers soonish I can't see it going ahead unfortunately, as that still leaves deposits to be collected before we can book up.
I had the motherboard on my desk but it was fiddly trying to hold the backplate to motherboard and screw it all together without everything moving about
I'm actually not sure I ever mentioned it! Came with the shell when I got it.
Sounds awesome! I'll be wiring it into two looms I think as it's been half wired up already. Have you got a link to the instructions/guide/whatever on the website?
I've got a heated screen mate, wouldn't have been considering not transferring the heater matrix without that! I've heard good things about these screens haha will be good to see how well they work.
Little bit more progress again last night. Coolant drained, radiator off and hoses moved out the way. Need to get some way of looping out the heater matrix when it goes into the new shell.
Got all the wiring disconnected too ready to lift out with the engine. Thanks @Fraser.J. for pointing out...
Done some stuff tonight. Got the bumper, headlights, slam panel etc all off. Air con pipes, condenser and pump removed then got the alternator out. Slowly starting to strip it down ready to remove the engine.
Tomorrow's plans are to drain the fluids, get the radiator and hoses all off, then...
