    Another roll cage thread

Personally, i think any protection is helpful, and went for a base plate welded in, 4 point half cage Full cages are a real PITA if used on the road A lot wont agree, but IMO thats better than nothing And, i have standard seatbelts, AND full harnsess belts installed as well. No issue at MOT.

    Phase 1 Throttle Body help

Got to underline that replacing the ICV worked a treat too... and gasket New gasket for the throttle body too And when he replaces the butterfly and pivot spindle they have to be a bigger size, as he rebores the throttle body out a couple MM too That would smooth out imperfections and make a...

    Phase 1 Throttle Body help

When i first purchased my 172 Phase 1 in 2016, I had all the problems you are talking about. First i replaced the throttle body as the butterfly seemed really loose (I tried to repair the butterfly several times) then the ICV was cleaned, then replaced. Including gasket, and checked for air...

Best handling mods for my new 182?

First time Ive had adjustable camber bolts. will get them set up exactly just before next track day- and its Lydden Hill with more turns than straights- kills front tyres in an hour/ I quite like the skittish grip at front altho pulling the way from the lights sharply can be kinda "youthful" as...

Best handling mods for my new 182?

Have just fitted Camber bolts on front to add 1.75 neg camber, and whilst Ive only done 100 or so kmies, feels a lot better front end cornering and throwing it about, and even a bit skittish cos of slightly less grip straight on. Loving them so far, but only time will tell on tyre wear, and how...

    Front wiper relay Phase 1

Wipers work fine on both main speeds- just when you switch them off, they dont park at base of windscreen. They just stop on the screen whenever the switch is to off position. Intermittent wipe only works occasionally Rest of car electrics seem fine. MOT failure by the looks.

    Front wiper relay Phase 1

so is there no relay for front wipers? all integrated into UCH as 2 nd post says? Will have to look at the switch, or faulty motor? Thought a relay would control direction of motor for wipers etc etc otherwise, change UCH wherever that is, and understand that's a coding pain etc etc

    Front wiper relay Phase 1

Right- just to help anyone with the front wiper issue on a phase 1 There are 6 relays under the glovebox. Everyone is out at the moment- a central relay is grey colour- all others brown None of them affect the working of my front wipers (Or headlights, or engine start) although passenger elec...

    Front wiper relay Phase 1

Thanks- as another thread ive commented on, the relays are accessible under the dashboard passenger side, I understand Although wipers may well be controlled from within the UCH Lets hope a bit of prodding and poking sorts my issue (Wipers dont return to park up) or the MOT could get pricey

    Being Tightfisted !

Would suggest that if it your first track day, possibly upgrade the front pads (I use Mintex 1144's and theyre really good imo) and that's it Maybe get a turkey baster and remove some power steering fluid and put in a empty plastic water bottle, and take some fresh to put back in after...

Offside/ drivers side new Driveshaft issue

Just to close this thread up and for reference, I went for the SKF 732mm long driveshaft offside for my Clio 172 Phase 1, and its great.
