I can't decide on posting but not telling you the answer, or making this as sarcastic as possible before giving you a hint to the answer...
Wooaaahhhh, that's a bit drastic. Mick, I need a cambelt change but can't be bothered to put any effort in whatsoever, will you do it for free?
Marcus...
Being annoyed at unfounded accusations is a completely justified & understandable response.
(As an aside I don't think anyone would have directed the accusations at you personally if you were involved in the discussion. Mr Potato in particular, having had a career in dealing with muppets...
Just to clarify - I'm correct in saying that you have absolutely no proof of any of your above accusations, yes?
A load of people think a 10+ year old mass produced econo-box on 200,000 miles is worth XYZ and you disagree. Therefore everything is CS's fault, all the idiots on ebay who can't do...
I keep loads of nearly-useless car bits under the "one day they'll be useful" premise!
I just make myself have a "throw out" of parts for cars I no longer/have-never owned.
Anthracite stripes with recaros by any chance? Don't think the owner is on here. Been a few spotted threads from around that area but didn't get many replies IIRC.
The dealer which it was bought from was the sort of place that preys on those who haven't done their research. Mind you this was 2...
It is not an exaggeration to say (according to Cliosport) that the Apex springs are one of, if not the, worst lowering spring on the market.
Eibachs & cooksports offer a similar height yet get loads of comments on how well they achieve a good trade off between ride quality and firmer sportier...
FLOL, I knew there had to be something brilliant I was missing about the 172 Exclusive (besides the OAP colour interior and not-to-my-taste-wheels :p )
Correct, but the springs are progressive and not linear like the springs you'd find on coilovers so you can't compare numbers with much confidence at all. The 3.25/5.7 might be an average, might be an average over an arbitrarily defined working rage, code be a modal value etc.
But you're spot...
Thanks, just double checked but that is the link I had in mind. Not Chip/Northloops musings, but the spring rates for 5 or 6 brands of coilover all in one place for comparison.
I know you're only looking at full coilovers but don't forget about motion ratios when listening to what other...
Brilliant thread, spring rates for all the popular coilover options: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?669264-Current-coilover-kits-spring-rates!&p=10309585#post10309585
Thread is so interesting because it reveals a lot about what each kit is intended for.
There was a very good thread a few weeks ago full of spring rate info between the options without much opinion. Which is refreshing.
Ultimately this is just going to be another thread that comes down to "averaging" a bunch of different opinions. Not so much because of the old "there's no right...
I must stress the bit about the switch being seemingly random and making no sense :p Well worth playing around with the bonnet open holding the switch and locking/unlocking.
Also if you end up breaking or replacing the bonnet closure switch, just beware that there are 2 types and it changed...
Yep, bonnet closure alarm switch. Just re-drill the hole if you want it to work (don't know why they'd fill it before dipping)
Otherwise could try bridging the terminals (the actual switch will come away from the plug on the end of the loom) and use a cable tie to hold it away from the fan...
Best purchase was 3 miles from my house.
Second best purchase was less than 1 mile.
Spent numerous entire days on the road travelling to cars which are nothing like as described.
The alpine stalk adapter was circa £80 RRP when it was available in the UK. The Connects2 for an update list headunit is about £25.
i.e. £55 to show track listing (which is on the headunit anyway) instead of the word "renault..."
He's put it on the interior rear view mirror. It's so whenever he looks behind him he is reminded that there's no need because he has the fastest car on the planet according to some of CS.

YOU DIDN'T PLACE THE FREE STICKER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE "WELCOME PACK/URL STICKER PLACEMENT REGULATIONS DRAFT 2014/B" DOCUMENT ?!?!?! (Seriously, did you not get that? PDF attached to the email confirmation you get when you buy...
What's wrong with Aluminium (genuine question)? Dan's are anodised so they don't look shiny, won't corrode, aluminium weighs very little yet is sufficiently stiff & if you're really worried about the possibility of conducting electricity then put some adhesive foam on the underside (something...
Out of interest how much did it cost to insure the bodykit, wheels, interior, tints etc. on top of the standard car?
FLOL @ the height of the headrest. Are you Peter Crouch? ;p
It sits upright (i.e. 90 degrees to your photo so that it's taller than it is deep or wide) and clips to the far right hand side of the lower grill and then to the undertray IIRC. IIRC stops stones etc. hitting the alternator.
That's what it looks like IMO. Havent had my bumper off for a very...
Worth pointing out that having stuff in the boot, tank of petrol, tyre pressures, leaky dampers, type of tarmac etc. all make a much more noticeable difference just to put it in perspective. You're not gaining/loosing 10 BHP depending on how nice the weather is.
Frankly, your guess is as good as mine, but I've had a hunt around the internet on your behalf. I'm sorry but I had to LOL at the description of the patch lead on the connects2 website: "Universal head unit connection lead for Chinese brand head units." One thing is for sure, you do need to...
Rob, sorry but this is just not the case. They're just standard "caphead" bolts in a standard metric size "M12 fine."
The bolts provided are designed to sit in a counterBORE ("square"). The spacers have been machined with a counterSINK (tapered). Clearly there are only two possibilities:
1)...
