Anyone ever had any issues with running their Clio on 97 Octane fuel? I've only ever ran it on 99oct and I know they can run quite lumpy on lower octane stuff.
Just curious as I'd rather save myself the hassle of having to drive 30 mins away from the track for 99oct if 97oct will be good enough?
Out with the old AD08RS's, in with the 'new' (part-worn) Giti GTR2's! I know a few people on here have ran these before, I'm excited to see how they do!
Hopefully the forecast doesn't get any worse than it is already for the Saturday, otherwise I'll be bringing the Saab instead for the laughs...
Next time there's a Steam Sale it's well worth getting the DLC for the sake of having ProMods, it makes the game world feel much more alive!
And that's pretty standard for multiplayer :ROFLMAO: I usually just give them some s**t back and then attempt to dodge every Turkish player that has no...
I still play it from time to time, it’s a good way to unwind! Especially with ProMods installed, it adds so much map content for free. Or I play the multiplayer if I want to enjoy a spot of virtual road rage :ROFLMAO:
It'll be your gearbox speed sensor, I had the exact same thing with my Phase 1. When the sensor stops reading and you lose the speedo, the ecu makes the car run slightly richer, that'll be why you're feeling it pick up a bit when the speedo doesn't work.
They're fairly cheap to buy (...
Aye it's a shame that it's being broken, not many low mileage Ph1's around anymore so you'd think it would be worth the effort to keep it on the road. Unless it's fully rotten through the floor underneath.
Don't use an impact on it, I made that mistake on mine because I couldn't get the b*****d to budge. The impact pulled the bolt about halfway out before completely stripping the torx thread. I ended up using a hacksaw to cut through the bolt as that's the only way I could get it out :ROFLMAO:
Do...
Nope this will be my first!
I've done a fair amount of 30 minute karting races in the past so I'm used to having my head roasted in the helmet, but granted that was indoor karting wearing a full race suit.
And I appreciate the advice, that was going to be my plan to begin within. I've watched...
Ah fair enough, hadn't considered the comfort side of things!
I don't plan on crashing, but from what I'd read, a full face is much safer than an open face in a crash? I don't fancy doing a Dale Earnhardt and smashing my face through the steering wheel due to lack of full face protection 😅
Anyone got any recommendations for a decent (but cheap) full face helmet? This will be my first time on track but hopefully not my last, so I'm looking for something that will last a while, but won't break the bank. It doesn't need to be fancy or colourful. Cheers boys!
Mine isn't the most OEM spec of Ph1 but I'm happy to lend it out! And it would be great to see a full spread of all the RS Clio's. In past comparison pieces, the Ph1 never seems to get mentioned, which is a shame as it's probably the second best to drive out of all the 172/182's (in my opinion).
You've probably done the route before, but as Penrith native I'd fully recommend taking the A686 out of Penrith up to Alston, and then down to Barnard Castle. It's a bit of a detour but the roads are amazing, as long as it's not a busy day!
Loving some of the features you guys have been putting out, really hits the spot for my interest in cars! I always found EVO was a little too super car focused, and when Modern Classics folded I was left with nothing that really represented what I was interested in / could potentially afford to...
Totally agree, I used to watch a lot of their videos back in the day but I've barely watched anything from them in the past year.
What amazes me the most is that for an automotive channel, it seems like both of them aren't very good at actually driving the cars. Any time they go on track it...
Looks good, I went down the Clubsport route too and ended up fitting a @CFAB Clubsport bar and net in the back of mine! Stops the shopping going everywhere on the drive home
Just seems like it's a Phase 1 thing really, no matter how few miles they do, they always end up rusting!
I bet it'll look spot on after all the work is done though! I've enjoyed following this thread, it gives me ideas for what to do with mine, especially the throttle bodies
This is what stops me from driving my Ph1 all year round, I'm so paranoid that it's going to turn to dust overnight  Hopefully you can catch it now before it gets too far gone!
I’d just buy the genuine Renault ones when it comes to top-mounts, you’ll avoid all the faff. Check to see if RenaultPartsDirect or KamRacing are selling them.
When you're having a poke around the car, try to take a look at your centre exhaust hanger, as well as the rear. The OEM centre hangers are known to be pretty weak and perish quickly. My centre hanger had collapsed, causing the exhaust to rest against the rear beam and buzz like crazy on decel...
If you’re going for Cooksport’s, KTEC are offering 10% off atm
From what I’ve seen online, Cooksport are closing down so now is the time to buy them before they’re gone forever!
Good to see you're doing a bit better! You should bring it along to Anglesey for Cliosport festival in August! Would be great to have another Phase 1 on track with me, even if yours is a lot faster than mine
Dang I'm sorry to see that Kev, I did have a feeling they'd be on their way out. Also apologies for taking ages to reply, I did mean to but my brain said otherwise 😬 I'm hoping by now you've found a place for new quarters and sills, but if not it may be worth contacting Renault, or trying a spot...
