After the disaster I experienced over winter where my front suspension disassembled itself, it's now been fitted with a good second-hand set of Bilstein B14's with K-TEC top mounts.
Took it for its MOT yesterday and it passed with no bother, aside from some minor defects for the headlights...
I might be the most socially awkward person ever so god knows how I'm going to manage to talk to any of you, but I'll definitely be buying a camping ticket and hopefully some track time if the Clio doesn't let me down! Worst comes to worst, you'll all get to see my freshly rebuilt Saab explode...
I know this doesn't really help, but there's a guy in the Phase 1 Owners Group on Facebook who sells some 3D printed centre caps that are all one piece, it might be worth messaging him if the ones you have now don't work out. I've got a set and they're great quality.
I think Renault recommended 5w-40 for most of the petrol engines on the mk2 clio, so any fully synthetic 5w-40 should be fine for it. If you have the service booklet for it, it should say in there.
Something like this should be fine...
If it's had the belts done in the last 3 years, I'd say it'll be worth minimum £3.75k in standard form, it's rare to see an RB to go for less than that unless it's really ropey. Selling the seats and wheels separately like you suggested is probably your best bet, as they'll be worth more off the...
Mine stopped working randomly on the motorway one night, no prior evidence of it happening. Turned out the nuts under the caps holding the wiper arms on had come loose. Tightened them back up and they've been fine since. If it's not that it could be the motors have packed in.
Your Ph.1 is pristine though, I follow you on instagram and it always impresses me when I see it. It's the one's on Facebook that are asking silly money for rotten cars that makes me laugh!
Phase 1 prices are all over the place at the moment, seen really nice ones go for £3k and then others are asking £5k for complete sheds. This one on eBay is up for nearly £11k, which seems nuts to me.
Took the Clio on a 2700mile roadtrip from the North of England to the French Alps last week! Was a bit nervous before I went but the car didn't skip a beat, was faultless the entire time. Went over more mountain passes than I can count, through endless tunnels and around hairpin bends, all while...
Honestly you'd probably make more money by selling off all the nice bits on it and returning it to stock. With the belts done you could get around 2.7k to 3k, and then selling off the bucket seats, shifter and other parts would probably make you a decent amount to go along side the car sale.
If...
Just for comparison, I think my Pearl Black Phase 1 is valued around £3.5k, on nearly 140k miles with decent service history but multiple owners. I think around £5k would be a fair price seeing as I've only seen around 2 or 3 oddessy blue phase 1's for sale in the past year, but they might only...
Did you take note of which plugs were in them? Should've been NGK PFR6E-10, most people find that running anything other than these can cause problems.
As for the running lean, as long as you haven't spent the last 2000 miles banging the limiter I don't think any damage will have been done. If...
I'd pull your spark plugs and check to see what condition they're in, they can cause some rough running when they're old and gunked up.
Seems someone else had a similar problem in 2020: https://cliosport.net/threads/obd2-codes-p0711-and-b0500.830001/
Might be worth messaging them to see if...
I went to this last year and it was class. The driveout was great, not too many crazy drivers either. Sadly can't make it this year but I'd fully recommend it.
Send him a message on facebook, he's very helpful and assited me for setting up the Recaros in my 172. He has various lowering frames, so he might have one that fits the standard seats.
I've found that putting at least one of the moisture traps inside the car and one under the bonnet does wonders.
The first year I garaged my Clio, I had a bit of mold growing on the seat belts and my plugs were compleltely fouled as moisture had worked its way to them. Second year, I popped...
