Ian, What spec is your engine? Great result for all three of you this weekend and some close, clean racing, We'll forget about the Peugeot incident!, lol
Great re entry into ,the racing James, I did pop over just before race one but you seemed busy so left you alone, I'm sure we'll have a chat at a meeting in the future.
Well done fella. credit to your hard work over winter
Great to finally meet you Tony, Sorry Jay, Tony was rude and didn't introduce you,lol but thanks for your time mate as I know there is always other stuff on your mind on race day,
Great racing and by far the most amount of interest from the spectators too out of all the classes, Mind you...
As requested by Tony above to "come on!" I thought I best update the thread,
IT DIDNT START!
It turned over but had no compression so obviously something wrong, I sourced another engine and swiftly swapped it over, the next weekend it was up and running, Everything is now done mechanically...
Pete,
When the diff was taking ages I had to keep myself busy so added a lot of things on my to do list that wasn't going to be done till next year, doors, tailgate, windows and EPAS, not far now!
More progress, Its now back on the floor, all the underneath stuff is done and my Brother is coming round to do the cooler pipes (he works for Pirtek) So hopefully start up will be tomorrow,Still waiting on a modified collor for the fith gear sprocket so wont be able to see if it drive ok.
I got busy this evening and the engine is in! Electric plumbed and driveshafts, wishbones brakes back on,
Its really starting to take shape now, should be rolling Saturday afternoon and oil cooler pipe work should be completed next week, Then its time to start the bugger,
Its certainly felt...
Ok, Its been a few weeks since I have updated this so a small photo bomb required,
So, My Diff finally turned up, not with the ratio I originally ordered as this was the problem in the first place, The company I ordered it from wasn't exactly being truthfull with my updates and a quick call...
That was a stella drive Tony, holding the Integra back for 2 laps only to be passed due to higher top end, And a sneaky move by the black Clio,
I think the Jap boys are getting worried now!
Brake lights/no brake lights! He definately had brake lights before the spin but just look at your...
I read the right part but it seems I'm stupid!
I missed the part saying "Exceptionally when taking part in an event held totally
off the public highway, need not comply with DfT
Statutory Requirements regarding lighting or horn.
Keep going Tony, it gives me inspiration to carry on, lol, I even fitted the "french trophy" sunstrip so it looks like a race car,,, Not sat in the drivers seat yet and made engine noise. (still time)
I'm running out of time for Combe Tony as the diff isnt even with me and is only 20 odd days away, cant commit to anything until its in my hands.
I think its pointless putting the engine and box back in and then do some testing as the final drive will be different making testing a waste of...
Havnt updated this thread for a couple of weeks, however, not alot has happened, I'm still waiting for my Diff but hope for this to turn up this week, If not then I'll be canceling the order and contacting my credit card company.
I have manged to get fitted my EPAS which was relatively easy...
I have ahabit of not keeping up my licence when not racing, Had left it more than two years without renewing so had to take it again,,
I think if you fail an ARDS test you should not even consider taking another, your clearly not suited to driving a car fast, My instructer even wanted me to...
