197 valves are the same as 182 valves. At least now the part number is the same. I did not assemble the engine, but I think I will use 1.2mm shims

I will also use the car as daily so I need ac. The brackets are from Clio 1.9 diesel

Change of plans I will use a 1.2 steering column and an eBay kit controller box and also I will keep the AC. Aux brackets are from and old Kangoo that has AC but no steering pump. I just want to remove the fu***** aux tensioner :)) Pics soon :)

I will try to use some GL4 instead, 75w80, or 90 should be fine, but try to find GL4. Not easy to find as many companies just sell GL5, but renault stuff is still available (nfj)

Hi mate, Are you sure GL5 transmission fluid is right for jc5 gearbox? I am not that sure gl5 is good.

Why don't you like the ED one? I see some that uses it without issues.

197 internals in 172/182 is a good setup for around 210hp because of higher compression.

The beam is not that...solid. Adding more metal to it, it became stronger and less stretchable.

I am also build an engine with 197 head, turbo application, and it is easy to just use the stock ecu (with a piggy back in my case). Using a variable vvt requires different ecu and cam sensor harness. You can have the benefit of 197 head just by advanced inlet cam when using 182 pulley.

Well,I saw stock engine 182 with grp n timing with 199-201 hp (without aircon and so). That is insane for me. Maybe some trick timing:)

There was a post on facebook, 182 engine with 197 internals (pistons, cams, injectors) with 213hp. Keep the 182 head will rise the compression to around 12.2:1.

There is no need for full variable vvt, you can use 182 vvt pulley with revers action from ECU.

Stock ecu is fine for 197 internals.

Well it is not that hard to create one, but you have to be very patient to shave inside ph2 fuel rail to obtain a nice surface so that O ring from regulator can seal. I can help you with some pictures of how it should look in the end. PM me

If you ecu has different map, 99% the revlimit is 7500rpm and idle at 900rpm+. Maybe the map is not right and cause very rich afr value. Try to measure the injectors resistance value, but in most cases when they are gone, the did not provide enough fuel, not the other way around. Do you have any...

Not much work this period, but is something :) Gt2560r...and a pillar pod :) now I am thinking of the best and reliable engine to build. Does anyone have a reliable setup for a 1bar max pressure? like what rods, pistons, bearings and so on. Thanks, Radu

Jc5 gearbox will fit your engine. The ratio will be different, but it does fit. @NorthloopCup If you want a rebuild gearbox, the one above is your man. Not cheap, but a perfect gearbox.

Bot the most accurate measurements, but you can have an idea. In the first picture I measure the distance from valve guide to valve collet with supertech valve fitted in and in the other with standard valve. There is almost 1.2mm difference between them. I am not sure if valves were designed...
