Progressing.
Interesting on the clutch as i have has a 172 Helix clutch and cover for 3 year and never had slip infact im amazed its lasted so long (240bhp and 8 inch slicks! and a hard time). You have to be careful with Heilx as they dont ID part numbers so you can get a 172 or Megan or Cup...
Performance - Gripper over the quaife anyday. Yes will need rebuilding every season or 2 but worth it. Regards Leaking i had this on mine but after the latest rebuild it stopped and never happened since. Seal can be funny but a bit os sealant should work.
Ever since i uprated my shafts i have always snapped outer CVs (end of the spline where it mates up to the Hub bearing) guess as the material used doesnt have any give (twist) the the load spikes it gererates as a result causes the problem. Not sure if there are and larger CV that could be used...
I have had exactly the same happen at similar speeds. Lucky as what happens if you pump the pedal too much the piston rips out and breaks the disc and snaps the caliper bracket off and punches a whole on the wheel deflates the tyre and causes you to nearly write the car off..........
Just...
Dont know for sure but the are the same profile as standard for the outer and inner CVs (pink car uses Jc5 box), its the material thats the main difference and gives the reliability.
Beresford engineering or gripper made some for others i know (just send an example and they make a replica rather than them having a specific off the shelf item), plus im suprised about Sadev as im sure they get shafts made locally i believe to any length..... Every shaft i have snapped has gone...
Personally given your higher spec engine i wouldn't get sadev ones. Others i know who went to higher spec powers kept snapping and bought elsewhere. Although im sure they can make stronger ones.
They are Laguna hubs as stated with an insert fitted, think the R3/Twingo are the same or very similar. The bearing is also Laguna too just type in the code on the bearing in google. Rear hubs are Laguna (they changed to this set up as its a larger bearing and were getting failures with the std...
Think the hubs are the same as the R3 ones and maybe the Twingo R2. The rear beam/suspension looks identical to the clio Cup set up, maybe quoting the newer part number (for the same thing) will bring up a cheaper price as this is how its worked on other bits.
I have quite a few new spares hubs front and rear and just seen your post as i have 2 new shafts as well...!!! all spares for my car. You wont get any help from Renault direct.
Look forward to the engine and seeing how the box copes as im going to be putting the 240bhp F7R engine in mine or a...
