Thank you for your comments all. Pure Motorsport have them for £675 which I think is great value compared to the Quaife unit at around a grand. May have to invest in one then to complement stage 2 power upgrade.
Saw the Mk3 at the FOS last year and for me it's not wide enough and just looks like a normal focus and the five door thing still pisses me off. Mk2 I still lust after as it looks super aggressive but out of the three I think I'd pluck for the mk1. Just looks "right" from every angle. Until I...
My low boost was enough to piss off a mk2 focus RS and a new Audi S1. C63 AMG got about 2 car lengths but they are ridiculous fast. Either way low boost is a lot faster than standard and in terms of reliability low/medium and high boost suffer similar issues with reliability from what I have...
If a high boost car is mapped properly putting the power down should be fine if you modulate your right foot accordingly. Damp conditions render traction issues in many cars, my 5 series diesel will flicker the dtc light if I mash the throttle when it's damp/wet. A diff definitely helps, along...
Yes indeed. Will probably wait til Jan and let my mechanic mate to do it as he will probably do it in a few hours but it will take me till hell freezes over to get the first one on. Bit of a mechanical Mong tbh. Enthusiastic, love buying fancy tools off eBay etc but mostly end up swearing at...
Turbo nuts wanting to disembark from the manifold yet again. Three of the little b******ds actually managed their daring escape plan but one was too s***t scared to jump so stopped the entire turbo coming off. They were white with the heat. I have paid top dollar for some US ones that the...
Want something turbo charged reliable and relatively quick buy the R26. Want something that is an absolute riot to drive but fragile and more costly in the long run get your Clio boosted. I am keeping mine forever so don't mind it too much when it goes wrong which it does but I went in with my...
I had anthracite turinis before my 2118's but if I put my original wheels back on now I would spray them back silver. They seem to just look "right" in silver nowadays.
Saw it was 52 mins long and was amazed as it seemed like only 15 mins as it flew by as I was so engrossed. Have liked Harris since his days on Autocar and then Evo. Needles grates a little tbh but this definitely fills the void since Top Gear has been off air. Awesome cars the lot of them. I...
What a write up!! Fascinating read so far, can't wait to see it all finished. Love what you've done with the Meg engine and the attention to detail is stunning. Would love to have the skill you do mate.
Hi mate, I have the Supersprint stealth with centre silencer. I had it first with just the rear silencer but it was biblically loud so bought the centre silencer. However I now have it turbocharged so may put the straight pipe back on as it quite quiet now. Exhaust is top quality, perfect fit...
hi mate,
My advice would be to read a few members threads on their cars. My thread is in the media section somewhere under turbo'd cup. Personally I think turbo charging the Clio really brings the car to life but as others have said you will also need budget for other components breaking and...
I'm not trying to put you off as they're fantastic fun and a serious step up in performance but from my experience they do require a lot more attention than a standard ish N/A car.
No not driveshafts. Just silly things like down pipes cracking and manifold nuts coming loose. Things that do happen and don't bother me as such as it's not my daily but would be a real inconvenience if it was my only transport. I like tinkering though :grinning:
I have a low boost setup from Andy at Clioturbo. Transforms the car IMHO. The spec of my car is on Clio Media somewhere is you want to have a look. Personally I wouldn't run one as a daily mainly due to the clutch as it is a ball ache in traffic. The other thing to note is that you need to...
